I fell in love with J. Tull in my late teens. Although Anderson's voice is not as full-bodied now, he does not disappoint one in concert. He is a consummate showman. Excellent choice of songs and this new band (drummer, bass guitar and keyboard) are quite good at even the old songs. Don's miss "Don't Want to be a Fat Man" on this DVD. Great fun! One of my old favorites.

This is documentation of the greatest festival of all time. It gives all sides of the festival. You will not be dissapointed when you buy this!

I saw Tull for the first time on their first U.S. Tour at the good ol' Fillmore East back in the day. They were so great that I can't even remember who the headliner was (Savoy Brown? Jeff Beck?... oh well)and I became a fan for life. Unfortunately, there is little in the way of concert video of this period when Tull was still young, brash and filled with juice. Well, it's been a (way too) long time but here it is. Yes, they WERE as great as we thought they were. Just know that there's only about 4 or 5 songs on this DVD, it's not a full set by any means, but you'll love it. The rest is padded with some rockumentary stuff about the Isle of Wight festival which was badly run, which you probably won't care about, and pieces of an Ian Anderson interview ... Read More:

Tull fans, beware! If you want to be happy, get "Isle of Wight" or "Montreux" (young and old Tull at respective peaks). But this mess...oy... It plays like a bad PBS pledge drive thingy, with uninteresting interview snippets interrupting mediocre song performances in front of a somnolent crowd. Poorly shot, poorly directed, ill conceived from beginning to end. And the supposed "reunion" with Mick Abrahams, Glenn Cornick, and Clive Bunker - forget it - a couple of short songs in a dingy pub where nobody in the band but Ian gets off at all. Why bother? Trust me, if you order this you'll hate yourself in the morning.

This is a great video in terms of historical value and musicianship. All of the band members were extremely talented. Unfortunately, we get just a few glimpses of the lead guitar player in action. The commentary was interesting, but less dialogue and more music footage would be preferable.

I'm so tired of lip synched material. Especially when a few great live performances are thrown in--The Byrds and The Nice. I'd rather be Youtubing than watch boring dvd's like this.
