I've wanted to get the CD not the DVD. Buyer's mistake. I decided to keep it because I like Michael Jackson. I'm sure this DVD will do it justice, so I decided to keep it.

It is 1987, mid way through Ronald Reagan's second term. 1987 is the year of the Iran Contra scandal and a big stock market crash. The Cold War with the Soviet Union is still being waged, but soon it will come to an end. George H. W. Bush and Dan Quayle will be our next president and vice president. Naval hero Tom Farrell (Kevin Costner) is summoned to the pentagon by Secretary of Defense, David Brice (Gene Hackman). At a posh political function the dashing commander hits on a glamorous woman and is shot down. But he makes a brash exit, claiming she is interested, and she follows him to the bar. As they get to know each other, they exchange these tender words:

LA Story is a delight to watch. just wondering if this version has deleted scenes as a special feature. There is a deleted scene with John Lithgow as a producer of a musical play meeting with Steve Martin at an outdoor cafe that is so funny. The language used was a ratings barrier that would have limited the audience at the time.

What were they thinking? Perhaps director Garry Marshall thought he could do for S&M what he'd done for the women of the evening in Pretty Woman. Wrap up an edgy topic in a big cute bow, and through humor make it palatable, even entertaining, to the masses. But you thought wrong Mr. Marshall. Actually, it is a surprisingly entertaining movie, it is just that most of the humor is unintentional. You can't believe the movie got green lighted when it was so obviously doomed to be a disaster.
They took a novel by Anne Rice, written under the pseudonym of Anne Rampling (a name she chose as a tribute to actress Charlotte Rampling) and then they grafted on a totally gratuitous story about international jewell thieves and the cops (played by ... Read More:

When I first saw this show, and watched Eclair in action with the robots, I thought 'Oh, it's THAT kind of show.' But I was wrong. Kiddy Grade is simply awesome. The characters are very interesting, ranging from "abilities" controlled and decided by that person's heredity. The storyline is different, too. In star century 0165, the Global Union was born, and to provide impartial mediator's to the various planetary governments of the Global Union, the GOTT (Galactic Organization of Trades and Tariffs) was formed to settle economic disputes amongst the members planets. Existing in the GOTT's shadows are E.S. (Encounter of Shadow) members that serves as the GOTT's primary law enforcement organization. E.S. members are grouped into pairs, usually having different ... This DVD picks up after the destruction of the G.O.T.T. headquarters by Lumiere and Eclair.
This is definitely one of the more complicated DVD's in the series. The role of Armblast and the Global Union becomes more involved as Lumiere and Ecalir become to grow increasingly militaristic in their running of the new G.O.T.T which now includes a clone army of Lumiere and Eclair. Some of the original missions are revisited and idle plots begin to come together; including the reason for Ecalir's strange dreams and feelings towards innocent people.
The only downside is that with all the different Lumiere's and Eclair's that feature in the series, it becomes a little difficult to distinguish who's who. However, I let myself be guided by the ... Read More:
