What's to say?
Free to Be You and Me is timeless, brilliant, and super fun for kids of all ages.
Great cast, wonderfully imaginative songs.
Too bad nobody's making an updated version!
One stereotyped 60's character after another is paraded onto a boring movie.
RFK is portrayed as the second coming (wait...wasn't JFK the 2nd coming...too bad Marilyn is dead, only she would be sure to know) and the answer to everythingthat Estevez and Papa Sheen and the rest of the Hollywood activist set believe is wrong with america. Gratuitous scenes of RFK with black people, but the movie gives patronizing roles to its black characters and has then live out stereotypes (typical white pinkolibs, eh?)
This is just another tribute to the overidealized 60s.

This nail-biting noir features the estimable talents of Ryan, a progressive in real life who plays a noxious bigot to the hilt, and handsome singer-actor Belafonte, showing a decidedly less wholesome side here. Director Wise and writer Abraham Polonsky add complexity to both characters, detailing the gnarled emotions Slater has for well-meaning girlfriend Lorry (Winters) and sexy upstairs neighbor Helen (Gloria Grahame), while depicting Ingram's barely concealed desperation, as he attempts to revive a marriage that's crumbled due to his gambling habits. It's all downhill from there, as everything goes awry on the day of the job. Considered one of the last bona-fide noirs, those in the mood for a tense, intelligent crime caper will like these "Odds."

Emelio Estevez did an excellent job with this movie. It showed how Bobby Kennedy affected the lives of people. It was good how he put the various footage of Bobby Kennedy's campaign trail in the movie as well. As I was only a wee baby at the time, it was excellent to see.

Is such a movie as this one. Bill and Sydney have always starred well as a duo. They're about the only two guys I know that can pull off roles as crooks, turn it into comedy and get away with it. But that takes nothing away from Calvin Lockhart and Harry Bellafonte. Everyone in this movie will have you busting your gut laughing. Bunch of fools (but in a funny way). I guess when you lose a lotto ticket, you go thru a lot trying to get it back. But if these clowns had been where they were supposed to be, instead of partying up at Zenobia's, they wouldn't have found themselves in such a mess. I guess they thought the wives wouldn't know they'd been up to no good.
They went from getting robbed, to get beaten up by a 4 foot 10 guy, to getting hooked up with some gangsters to ending ... Read More:

In a racial role reversal parody, White Man's Burden does a fair job of illustrating the overt, socioeconomic disparity racism creates. It fails, however, to explore the roots of self-hatred, which extends beyond any socio-economic considerations. Taking a hypothetic which could have been included in the production: Imagine John Travolta's character walking into a church with his family. After having taken their seats, they notice all of the imagery including angels and saints adorning the stain-glassed windows, are pure African black. Similarly, a wooly-haired dark Jesus is shown on the cross at the church's alter. Later while looking through a Christian publication, only similar uni-racial imagery appears. While at home watching an excerpt of "The Ten Commandments", the family notices the ... Read More:

This is a western coming from a very different perspective. It is good, but still a little slow at times. Other than that small complaint, I would say the movie was very, very good. If you can rent this movie, do so. It will be weel worth your time.
