Having owned the previous non anamorphic DVD version, I was expecting this DVD to be much improved.

Guess what? There is practically NO difference in picture quality, despite the fact that this version is anamorphic.

The box says "Remastered in High Definition"...what a joke.

Stay away until the powers that be do this film correctly.

Mystery Classics 50 Movie Pack Collection

I have enjoyed this set of classic mysteries. Most of the moves I had not seen in years since the Late, Late Night Movies, were on TV. These took me back to when I was teenager and would stay up late with my mother. She would tell me stories about the stars and other movies with then in that were the same type. This set brought back memories and also there were other movies that were sequiels that she had told me about but had never seen. The quality of the films have not been totaly restored, but improvements have been maded, making viewing enjoyable. Their are a few films that jump as if frames are missing but overall a great set for the price.

when people write a bad review about an item, in this case a DVD, that they never should have purchased if they didn't like musicals, or bought it, watched it, and came back here to give it a bad review because they enjoyed a different version of the film that included actors they enjoyed more. I've never seen the Philadelphia Story, although I would like to do so one day. If I enjoy TPS more than "High Society," that doesn't automatically make HS worthless.

I've always loved this movie and decided to purchase it today. When I saw two 1-star ratings, I had to see if there was some kind of flaw in the actual DVD (cut scenes, etc.). The film is great to watch and includes cast of legendary actors singing and performing and singing ... Read More:

Musicals Classics 50 Movie Pack Collection

This is a good compilation of little seen and forgotten films from way back which should please nostalgia buffs. Quite a number of them, however, don't really qualify as being musicals, such as "Breakfast in Hollywood," which contains only a couple of songs sung on a real life radio show back in the 40s the movie was made to promote. Overall, I recommend it, as it contains early films from stars such as Bing Crosby and Lena Horne, along with an interesting array of old black musicals.

This is politics as it used to be, when the Senate was composed mostly of people of good will, with differing ideas, and the meanspirited politics of destruction, so typical today, was unusual. Not that the story isn't controversial and interesting, but the backdrop is that of a Senate one could be proud of.

There is the justly infamous, stupidly stereotypical, "gay bar scene" which is hugely hard to take. But otherwise the acting is superb and the characters fascinating and very real. This is a DVD to own, not rent.

Wonderful! My little girls and I watched these movies on TV, and then we had to get them. They just love to watch them over and over. All three are good, clean, family movies--can't find these now days. So glad to have them now!!
