For mindless entertainment I love to watch Monty Python and the Holy Grail. There is no rhyme or reason to the movie, just a bunch of people doing stupid stuff and making it hilarious. There's no need for neverending flatulance jokes (which is overplayed in almost every comedy of today) or a need to make fun of different races and cultures just to get a cheap laugh. What it is is pure stupidity that makes you practically wet yourself when you watch it. I couldn't tell you how many times I have watched this movie and laugh hysterically every time (as if it's the first time I'm seeing it and hearing the jokes). First, let me say that when I returned the first set of Monty Python disks because some disks would not play, Amazon made it easy for me to return them, and promptly sent me a replacement set.
But the second set was worse, with more defective disks. I'll find replacements for the bad disks myself, since there is no reasonable expectation of the third set being any better.
This review is being offered in early October. If you want to get this set I would wait. Maybe it is just a bad run. If you do purchase them, check disk 10. It was bad in both sets.

Many people have asked me when I was going to kick off the Halloween Season recently, and now I have. Casper is a child-friendly ghost story that is based off an old cartoon series. Considering this film was made in 1995, Casper has held up very well. If you are looking for a fun movie for your children to watch, you might want to check out Casper. If you are an adult, avoid this at all costs.

The story is very light hearted. Carrigan, a greedy woman, has just inherited a haunted Manor. There are three threatening ghosts: Stretch, Stinkie, and Fatso. There is also a friendly ghost, Casper. I really had high hopes for this one; Glenn Close reprising her role as Cruella and Gérard Depardieu as her costar. However, it really is just more of the same, and sadly even sillier than the first. This time, Close is just too over-the-top to really be as delicious as she was in the first outing. Even the slapstick at the end as she gets her comeuppance from the animals (again) is not as funny. The romantic leads are duller than dishwater as well, and there is no Joan Plowright to add an extra dollop of much needed class and humor. Outstanding! 5 Stars. This is how it's done. Stay true to the spirit and vision of the TV series and put in what would otherwise be in the TV show if TV didn't have to cater to lame, uptight, humorless people all the time. But it is precisely because of society's weirdness, stupidy, and strange mores that makes South Park possible in the first place. It is only out of the sheer wackyness of America that South Park comes from and reason why it is so funny. And I shouldn't be too down on America. I mean it's not like were in China or some crazy Muslim country. I'm sorry but those people are crazy.

It's Monty Python at their best. Very funny lengthy sketches and musical numbers that have you rolling on the floor. Absolutely hysterical. They show silly, yet intelligent humor that is sure to be appreciated by their audiences.

Get it and you will want to own all of the Monty Python's movies... but that's a good thing.

An the enchantment of always doing what she is told
with this beautiful star brings up some startling
fantasies in the male audience?
I like fairy tales and Anne Hathaway,
but I think she deserved a better movie!
The studio special effects in the forest
are kind of poor, as is the dialog in many cases.
The jokes almost come off too.
A little better script with an actress like this and you might of had a classic.
