There were a lot of sweaters in this movie. I guess we were supposed to get the sweater as a metaphor of a comfortable life or maybe knitted angst... I don't know, maybe the sale on sweaters was left on the editing floor. Just when you got your sweater quotient overloaded, Dinna Lane character gives the Richard Gere character a sweater for a gift... and that doesn't begin to turn off the knitting machine. Ugh! I guess wardrobe played a big role in setting the scene, or something.
Well, if the Diane Lane character (Connie) was true to life then this would have to be every man's worst nightmare for a wife. Affluent, bubbling over with happiness in the home, indulged by her high earning husband to work for charities when she feels like ... Read More:

i believe this remake of the black and white film of the 1930's is the superior of the two. The Richard Thomas version is less preachy than the Lew Ayers version. Also, the ending is not "telegraphed" to the viewer as was done in the black and white film. In the Richard Thomas film the end is sudden, a shot from nowhere! I believe thiss adds considerable dramatic impact to the main theme of this story.

All About the Benjamins sets outs to be an action comdey and it succeeds on every level. Ice Cube in the lead role proves his action star status and his writing talent(he co-wrote the sciprt.) Mike Epps in the second lead continues to make a name for himself as a very funny comic and sidekick. The very lovely and sexy Eva Mendes is good in her role as Gina and Tommy Flannigan makes a good villain. Kevin Bray who has directed videos for N'Sync , 112 and Jagged Edge makes a good debut with this fun, upbeat action comedy.

This is a brilliant intimate outdoor concert attended by a few lucky fans at Sting's home in Italy. Most songs have new jazzy arrangements that I like better than the studio versions, maybe because the musicians seem to be playing with heightened passion. There is a nice balance between old and new songs and they're all good, but for me, the following stand out. "Fragile" is such a great song (maybe Sting's best) but this version is dripping with empathy and blows the studio version out of the water. The back-to-back jazz and blues punch of "Seven Days" and "The Hounds Of Winter" is stunning. "Fields Of Gold" has a soothing melody line that mentally transports you to that field. Finally, the smokin' hot band pulls out all the stops on "If I Ever Lose My Faith In You".

It is Christmas 1942, and America has instituted the draft of young men to enter the War.It is six weeks to shipping out, and Henry Nash and his best friend Nicky, average middle class teens, with delusions of grandeur about being Marines (from seeing too many News Reels!)live out their remaining time in a coastal California town.Nicky (Nicholas Cage )and Henry (Sean Penn) work in a bowling alley as pin boys. Both are typical teens with active libidos.Nicky is the wilder one, but Henry has a sensible and sensitive side that Sean Penn shows that is the excelling point of this somewhat drawn out 108 minute period piece.Watching this film for the first time since 25 years ago, I was struck with what a mature actor Penn was at the time. He, as Henry,is the true star of this film. His acting ... Naturally, he wants in the gang and after persuading both Jude and Jude's gang boss uncle (Ray Winstone), he becomes a member of the gang. During a series of actions, Jonny rises in the estimation of both the gang boss and his fellow gangsters.
However, this success is not enough for Jonny. He becomes quickly bored with what he sees as a gang that operates like a criminal business and wants a war.
