As a born and bred Cajun it is difficult to fine movies and books that TRULY portray us as intelligent, modern human beings.

This movie did a better job than most, although it would have worked better set in long-ago days.

However, the plot had all the elements of a good story - interesting characters, satisfying ending.

I especially liked the dedication. In the wake of Hurricane Katrina,the victims of Hurricane Rita (and now Ike) were all but overlooked.

This movie is trying way too hard to be clever and stylish.

On the clever side, it fails badly with all the logic mistakes. There is no way that any of the FBI trainees could have set up these elaborate traps on the fly. Then, while these are highly trained profilers, once under pressure, they stop doing their highly sophisticated profiler talk and instead fall back into the stereotype Hollywood movie trapped prey behavior of shutting off their brain and just accusing the next person of being the killer without thought or reason.

This is like deja vu all over again... It is a classic / fun movie that makes me re-live my high school days. It has great music with BOC, Nugent, Foghat, Sabbath, and the others that we listened to while we were out looking for chicks - and what ever else... It also has some nice T & A with Laney, but China Katner is the real girl that you wish your never passed up. Joe, please jump on that grenade!!!! Watch until the very end credits to see Buck Darhma and Eric Bloom from BOC try to sell Joe and Hubbs a shirt. Don't fear the reaper is one of my fav songs of all time - so this movie is always at the front of my ones to watch when I need to relax. I am reviewing this movie in 8/08 and was thrilled I got to see it. Colin Farrell has made many movies over his career often to mixed reviews. He seems to either be really good or not good at all. But he has that star presence and I must admit he is one of my favorites. Anyone with any doubts as to the acting chops of Colin Farrell must see this movie. His acting here shows he is among the top in his field and he is capable of anything. It is an acting tour de force.

This film is important on many levels and I think it was very underrated. It truly deserves a place in film history as one of the best films about war. And it manages to do this without having any battle scenes or even making it to the war.

I just love watching this movie, and I only have the VHS version. I doubt that there is a better "shootem up" movie around. I also enjoy the relationship develop between Chow Yun-Fat's and Mira Sorvino's characters. All the acting was good to me. As for Mira Sorvino, there is probably not a hotter actress with a gun in her hand as she. If you like seeing the bad guys get what they deserve, this is the movie for you!

1/2 Riddick because a husband and wife are sentenced to a prison 30 or so stories below surface (for having more than one kid). 1/2 Demolition Man becase of the "big brother" like atmosphere and the lame acting. I know, it sounds great! How could this movie not be a blockbuster? Well, Chris Lambert isn't exactly a great actor. This movie isn't exactly good. And, oh yeah, the plot sucks! But it's an enjoyable watch anyway. For some reason my left brain kept telling me "change the channel" but my right brain just couldn't do it. I wish I could give this movie 2 1/2 stars, because I didn't really like it...but I didn't dislike it either.
