Just as you might have seen in the theatre, BD provides better sound and vision for all the viewers, especially HD resolution does come in handy compared to the old cable TV channels. Somehow I didn't give it a 5-star it's because the box looks kind of damaged outside. The fact that I want to keep it a collection, which a rough look on the ouside doesn't adore me too much. Well...I guess that's the only flaw I could come up with. Besides that, videos quality and sound look just fine to me.

I never saw the Broadway production and I never saw the original film of Raisin in the Sun, so I had a fresh take on my un-biased oppinion about this version. all I can say is I love it. The acting is absoulutely fantastic. It's rare when you see a movie like this nowadays, most movies released now are violent action superhero melodramas we've all seen before. A Raisin In The Sun is drama based and character driven and the passion displayed in this film is emotionally charged. You can tell the actors loved their characters, instead of just reading off a script. I will say again how rare it is to find a recent film with exceptional writing and an interesting story. I loved Philicia Rashad's performance. She deserved the emmy. I also loved ... Read More:

Director Spike Lee wastes no time turning up the heat in this provocative allegorical dramedy about race relations in America, filtered through a day in the life of Brooklyn's multi-ethnic Bed-Stuy neighborhood. From the opening credits, which literally explode onto the screen with a muy caliente Rosie Perez busting some serious moves to the strains of Public Enemy's "Fight the Power", to the jaw-dropping climax, this is one of those rare films that manages to engage mind, body and soul all at once. One of the few films on the subject that is not afraid to admit to and confront the fact that bigotry comes in all colors. I think it remains his finest work to date. The cast includes Ossie Davis, Ruby Dee, Danny Aiello, John Turturro and Giancarlo Esposito. ... Read More:

I remember when this movie first came out I was somewhat skeptical about seeing it but I finally gave in and was surprised of how good it was and how faithful it was to the comic book. The story itself is basically how Spider-man came to be. On a field trip Peter Parker(Tobey Maguire) gets bit by a radioactive spider and gains powers from the bite. He not only has to struggle with making ends meet he has to struggle with a destructive lunatic called Green Goblin(Willem Dafoe)and also revealing his true feelings about his long-time friend, Mary Jane(Kirsten Dunst).
This movie is so true to the comic book, its almost eerie. Tobey Maguire is great as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Willem Dafoe is excellent as The Green Goblin, J.K. Simmons is great as Jonah ... Read More:

The dread franchise film has killed off many a potentially interesting character (Superman, Batman, Ripley, Rocky) & given leases of life to characters that are paper-thin (Indy Jones, Jason Voorhees, Catwoman). The latest franchise film is Spider-Man 2, directed by Sam Raimi. The 1st Spider-Man was probably the best comic book film ever made- mostly because its leads- Tobey Maguire as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, & Kirsten Dunst as his love- Mary Jane Watson a) can both act (unlike, say Christopher Reeve as Superman), b) are well cast (unlike Michael Keaton in the 1st 2 Batman films). & c) have chemistry (unlike Reeve & Margot Kidder in the Superman films). Maguire, especially, is so good an actor that he is 1 of those rarities that can run a panoply of ... Read More:

This is an interesting, entertaining movie in many respects, and certainly the acting is excellent. What stands out to me, however, is that this is a kind of "great white hope" story. The character "1900" (Tim Roth) is sui generis--a unique oceanic human that is born, lives, and dies on an ocean liner without ever setting foot on land. Of course, he is the offspring of an unknown European immigrant mother, who abandoned him; notwithstanding his de facto adoptive black father (Bill Nunn), "1900" he still represents Eurocentric values and attitudes.
Like Sylvester Stallone's "Rocky," Giuseppe Tornatore's "1900" is a fictional character whose greatness is ultimately measured by his ability to beat the black champion. In Rocky's case, of course, the opponent-champion, Apollo ... Read More:
