There are three DVD's in this package and I wished that the story would have never ended. I would have loved to have had more to watch! (The one DVD is of the making of the series.) The directors and screen writers did an excellant job with this movie. It was made for TV, so there are breaks in the movie but this can be useful if you want to watch it over several days. Enjoy it.

This is a great show!! I love the fact that this show is both accurate and interesting. Elizabeth is my FAVORITE historical figure and I Love it when I find a show that does her justice!!
Helen Mirren is a great Elizabeth. She captures everything from Elizabeth's confidence and intelligence to her frustration and pervasiveness so perfectly. I love her! I wasn't so sure about Jeremy Irons as Dudley, but after a couple of viewings his performance has grown on me.
What is so great about this show is that it takes place during the last years of Elizabeth's reign, which means we see some of the events that made Elizabeth a legend (like the death of Mary, Queen of Scots and the defeat of the Spanish Armada). But these events aren't changed ... Read More:

When I got this collection, I didn't know what to expect. I watched Cranford first (love it), then Wives and Daughters (love it too) and lastly North and South (superbly love it, the best period drama I've seen yet, just fell in love with Richard Armitage and Daniella Asby-Ashe) which became my most treasured movie. Cranford is comedy with very good actors, so as Wives and Daughters, while North and South is an addictive drama that will melt your heart to watch it over and over again. A great treasure to keep. BRITISH MOVIES - YOU MADE MY DAY!

First and foremost, I would like to thank my Amazon friend J-Train for recommending this sublime zombie movie to me. It truly blew away what I thought of zombie movies. This is a great film, that was unfairly panned by film critics and other people who gave it low review scores. This film, in my opinion is George A. Romero's true zombie-horror masterpiece.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT: It's about a group of survivors who live in an old missile silo working on research for domestication and possibly a cure for the zombie infection. There is a lot of tension between the survivors that gets so bad they threaten each other with weapons and interfere with the research. The Lady Eve is a funny screwball comedy thanks to Barbara Stanwyck (what a firecracker!) she makes this film better than it actually is. Henry Fonda is ok but not memorable like his leading lady. Preston Sturgess directed this classic, I like his sense of humor but a lot of these old films fade with time, sorry to say but this is one of them.
