If you're a fan of crude, sophmoric humor, you'll enjoy this movie. Like the other movies in the series, this one has one main parody (in this one, it's "The Haunting") with several other parodies of movies thrown in. The very first scene, which is not essential to the plot, is perhaps the funniest. It's a pretty good parody of "The Exorcist", starring James Woods as a less-than-enthusiastic would-be exorcist. The funniest part occurs when the possessed girl's mom and her other white, upper-middle-class friends are gathered around the piano and break into a "gangsta rap" song. I was laughing so hard I was crying.
The rest of the movie centers on several college students who stay in the obligatory spooky old mansion to study psychic phenomena, sort of ... Read More:

Scary Movie
This movie started the idea of making parody movies. Honestly, most parody movies are horrible with a few laughs in them. It's like they are trying to hard. Scary Movie is one of the few movies that proved well done in the genre.
A serial killer who is dressed exactly like the murderer from Scream kills a woman named Drew. The police are interviewing students to try and figure out what they can. Cindy, your main character, suddenly gets messages from the killer; this is a parody of I Know What You Did Last Summer. Cindy and a group of friends actually killed a man and threw him in a lake exactly like I Know What You Did Last Summer. The entire story is a combination of the two previous movies, with a ton of humor thrown in the mix. ... Read More:

This film is INSULTING to anyone who ever smoked pot. The female star gets high on weed and is portayed as having the most intense ACID TRIP ever! Reminds me of Reefer Madness. Is this an anti-marijuana film? Easily the WORST MOVIE I have seen in the last 5 years. Nothing funny about this film. The actress (if you can even call her that) is bad. Maybe it's the plot? Who knows? PAINFUL TO WATCH.

This is actually my favorite movie in the Scary Movie franchise. It could have been better, I will admit, but Charlie Sheen and Simon Rex make this movie, as does the usually funny Ana Faris. Anthony Anderson and Kevin Hart are also Hilarious! Leslie Nelson is pretty good in this, too, but I'm a Leslie Nelson fan, so I'm partial to his work already.
This is where the parody movies should have ceased, at least for a while so that writers could put a GOOD script together... The spoof movies that followed (Scary Movie 4, Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans, etc.) have been simply AWFUL!

Mama's Boy is a comedy/drama with fun characters. We have the neurotic Jeffrey (Jon Heder) who lives with his mother, there's the motivational speaker Mert (Jeff Daniels) who talks in clichés ("the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams"), the untalented aspiring singer Nora (Anna Faris) who only sings about how she hates big corporations, and of course Jeffrey's employer Seymour (Eli Wallach). The most normal character is Jeffrey's mother Jan (Diane Keaton). All the actors do a great job. Diane Keaton is one of my favorite actors, but here both Daniels and Heder steal scenes from her.
These characters are given some hilarious moments but the script is a bit formulaic and after about one hour it turns into more of a drama than a comedy. It's still ... Read More:
