I purchased this movie because a friend of mine is the son of a master engraver who created the forged British banknotes during WWII. When I saw the movie I was quite surprised with its involvement with the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. The engraver that I knew about was a German civilian. Nevertheless, the DVD contains an interview with the Russian engraver who was the main character in this verson of the story of this counterfeiting operation. It is my conjecture that the task of the German Government in this project was too important to their economy to perform the forgery in only one location or facility. This movie portrays a most unusual take on life in a German concentration camp, Sachsenhausen. The creation of an elite group ... Read More:

The recording is superb and the singers are great! I especially love Manfred Hemm's acting and singing. His humorous acting is well worth the money spent in this DVD. I love his green bird costume! It's hilarious.
His voice is deep, moving and expressive.
The orchestration is also very well played and recorded. Other supporting singers are well chosen as well.
I would love to see this live with the same people!

Please do not waste your money on this one. The sound is tourchuring. We could not even listen through the first act! It was complete waste of money for us! Poor Mozart, and I always thought that you can't go wrong with Mozart's pieces, what a dissapointment.

I loved this movie. It was so heartfelt and precious. My father-in-law has Alzehiemers so the movie has more meaning to me.

This review is for "The Pit," as I have yet had time in my increasingly busy schedule to watch Hellgate. I am although more then excited because it has been rumored to me that Hellgate features a "face-ripping zombie turtle." Now if that doesn't wet your whistle, so to say, then I don't know what will.
"The Pit" in a nutshell. Really perverted 12 year-old kid, who's teddy bear communicates telepathically with him, finds a hole in the ground filled with trolls. Teddy, oddly enough the name of his bear, tells the young pervert to feed them. People consequently die. Pervert helps to release the before mentioned trolls out of the hole, who in turn, kill more people.
The plot is awful, the special effects are awful, and the dialogue is awful. But ... Read More:

The film is primarily a comedy, but it is also a "Chick Flick" at the same time. In this essence, it's a well balanced film; although predictable. "Advertising Rules!" doesn't throw any curves at you. It follows the traditional format that we see here in the states everyday. Boy meets girl, boy makes mistake, lies to girl, girl leaves him, he finds success but looses girl, make reprimands gets girl back and lives happily every after. In fact, plot wise, the story follows the movie "In Good Company" almost exactly
The character Viktor Vogel is very likable; all the characters are likeable in fact. I would like to note that the character Kaminski (Viktor's Boss in the beginning), is a little underdeveloped. However, I felt as if I could relate to each of ... Read More:

This restrained urban drama about a Berlin call boy and the woman who lives across the hall from him calls to mind Thoreau's assessment, "most men lead lives of quiet desperation." Theo lives quietly alone with two answering machines (one private, the other for taking messages from men responding to his ads). Handsome, clean, and seemingly intelligent, he has no real friends. We see him make only one phone call to his mother, to make excuses why he is unable to visit her. Across the hall is Marie, a depressed record store clerk who struggles to make a life with Paul, an unsuccessful writer who seems to be living on her dime. When Paul leaves Marie (something we learn happens with el Nino-like frequency), Marie goes into a deep funk. Theo, playing the Good Samaritan, becomes ... Read More:
