Mr. Ferguson has a set pattern in his writings of lots of magician tricks to make the audience believe the show is real by telling them Jeopardy question facts before moving on to not pointing the real finger of Truth at anything.
If you want to read a skewed version of not the entire subject, then read Mr. Ferguson's books. One should note that just not anyone can get published in the literary industry unless you have the blessing of the very people you are exposing. In noting that, this book could be more looked at as "A Robber Barons' Guide to the Galaxy in how we snookered the world" with Niall Ferguson as the guy running the spotlight who keeps flicking that light onto other areas.

said it would fit in nicely with my 'philosophy'.
not that I believed everything I read here or anywhere else.
but the general idea is correct.
I can look at what is deducted from my paycheck everytime I am paid to know that I am getting the excrement end of the stick, so to speak.
and having a couple of relatives who are actual representatives and congressmen, proves beyond a shadow of a doubt there is some shady stuff.
all governments are like this.
but thats the point.

This book will make self investors think about how to allocate their own investments. Markets have really fallen apart since the book went to press. Of course commodity sectors, international and emerging markets have fallen as much or further and the dollar has risen. I think Peter Schiff's analysis deserves a lot of merit and the selloffs in the overbought commodities and emerging markets areas gives investors a great opportunity to reanalyze their own portfolios. Great read!

Peter Schiff is a professional doomsayer who strongly makes the case that the American economy is going to hell in a hand basket. Fast.

He lays out this case in his book, CRASH PROOF. Given the backdrop of recent months, it is hard to say he is wrong. The book came out @ February of 2007 so Schiff is prescient in a number of realms.

If doom and gloom is your cup of tea, you have come to the right book. Schiff sees over consumption, inflation and misguided government policies as providing a recipe for economic and financial disaster. My gripe is that the book's title oversells and does not really constitute truth in advertising. I estimate that only about one-fourth of the book is prescriptive in offering ways to "crash proof" yourself and your finances. ... Read More:
