I read this book for my book club, and I was surprised to find the book in the "religious fiction" section at my local B&N. This should have been my first warning. I thought that this was an odd selection for a book club, as you don't know who you are going to offend when you express a negative opinion on a religiously-themed book. As it turned out, none of the 5 members who came to discuss the book remotely liked it, and all had trouble finishing the book.

I had already read the first two books in about a 2 days time so I knew I had to order Eclipse, the third in the saga. This one is full of more action than the preceding books and I personally found it more enjoyable. I won't go in to detail because I don't want to spoil the story, but if you have read the first two, then you HAVE to keep going! And if you haven't yet read the first two books, order them as well and get started!!

While the series is more or less geared for YA, many ages can find something to relate to within all the books of the saga.

This is an excellent book, I encourage you to buy it today!

Most comic books are shallow, ridiculous stories with flat, uninteresting characters. The issues are painted in black and white and one side is explicitly presented as the side of absolute Good. The Watchmen is different. The story is multifaceted and the characters are much more complicated than they first appear (In fact, I also recommend that you read the book at least twice!). There is no faction in the Watchmen that can claim a monopoly on "Truth, Justice, and the American Way," and no assumption that this is desirable or even possible. Without qualification, this is the best book I have read for pleasure in a very long time.

I am familiar with the man and his work and I have listened to him on
television. It doesn't matter what side of the fence he is on, I would
never ever take this man's word for anything. He is so full of hate and
venom and self-satisfaction. He would stoop to any level to get his message across.

I wonder what it must be like to go to sleep at night knowing you are
Corsi and wake up again the next morning and still be that same guy. It
would give me the creeps.
