Alby: Al Green Release Date February 27, 1995 This entire CD is just unbelievably great. The soulful singing, the bottom bass and drum, the just-so organ riff, the magnificent horns, and the lyrics are one of rock/soul/R&B's great achievements. Beautifully arranged, with the essentials tightly grooved together, without the overproduced, overdubbed sound that ruins so many other efforts. Too bad this CD is currently unavailable. But, if you can't get this CD, try some of the greatest hits CDs, or spring for the box set. One personal recommendation: Be sure the CD has "Take Me to the River."
