- Great summer music
I just saw them in concert--great concert, really fun-everyone was bouncing and singing along. Vampire Weekend is great summer music, great beach music, music to play in the car on the way to the beach, or in your room while getting ready for the beach. For the summer, there is nothing better. Not sure how well it will translate come winter, but this is good, sunny, fun music. Worth the $10, definitely.

if you kinda like Arctic Monkeys, BabyShambles...this is another option for you! it just energizes me when i hear it.
i would like to check out their other albums indeed!!

I rarely find a cd where I enjoy all the songs on it. Catchy beats to go along with the catchy name. You'd be doing yourself a favor buying this cd.

- I hate VW
I got VW after Paste Magazine raved about them. Talk about overblown. I tried to give them chance, but I couldn't stop thinking that this is music young republicans will be listening at their 'hipster' parties in Minneapolis in September. Just plain awful.
Rating: - A Great Debut, and a Strong Divergence from General Alt Rock
I've given this CD a few listens, and I've begun to appreciate it even more with each listen: each of the songs fit well with the rest of the CD, and while there are definitely some particularly strong songs on the album ("Mansard Roof", "A-Punk" and the hook in "One (Blake's Got A New Face)" all come to mind) there aren't any songs that I'd say "...eh" to.
It definitely has an Afro/Caribbean feel to it, which adds to its divergence from standard alternative fare. The influence of the likes of the Talking Heads and Peter Gabriel can be heard in it as well. Overall a strong debut.
