Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Another hit
Its amazing how Lifehouse keeps coming out with songs that just seem to hit me right where they need to. I felt something with each and every song on Who We Are. The only song i didnt really enjoy was The Joke and maybe. If i give that a few more listens i will start to enjoy that a bit more.

I cant even pick a song out of here that is my favorite because i enjoy them all particularily:

Who We Are
First Time
Storm
Disarray

I could list the whole album tracklist, but you get the picture. Mr. Wade has a way with not only bringing the songs to life but singing them in such a way that. You cant help feel a part of them and the band as a whole seem to be clicking on all cylinders in every other aspect on this cd. I love me some Lifehouse and as long as they keep bringing out new music. I will be there in line buying it on day one.

I loved "Who We Are" from the first note of the first song the "First Time"

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - In a league of its own...
Most of the reviews I've read are from devout Lifehouse fans making a comparison of this CD to previous releases. Well, if you know nothing about Lifehouse and want the lowdown on THIS CD, then here it is...

Until this latest CD "Who We Are", I would have said that Lifehouse is a very unique band with a very distinct sound that may or may not appeal to the public at large. Sure they had some commercial success with a couple of brilliant songs, but I truly believe that their MASS music was hit or miss with the general "commercial/rock/pop" crowd. Today, with this new CD, my perspective has definately changed. At the very least, I can confidently say that most of the songs on this CD are HIGHLY listenable and will be greatly enjoyed by anyone who likes Adult Contemporary/Alternative rock music. If that sounds like you, and you know nothing about Lifehouse, I honestly think that this is the CD you should buy. You will hear many people talk about their best CD (No Name Face), which I also believe is still their best work to date, but I also think it appeals to a more "tailored" ear. Whereas this CD has more hooks than captain hook himself. If you're looking for something fresh, enjoyable and inspiring, this is it - highly recommended!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - New Album, Same Great Taste
Let me start by saing that I own and love all 3 of Lifehouse's previous albums. They make one solid album after another, although I think "No Name Face" will always remain my favorite. "Who We Are" seems to lean more towards Lifehouse's upbeat side, with not as many as the really slow and beautiful songs (which are usually my favorite ones). As a result, this is probably my least favorite album from them so far, but it's grown on me more every day. The first song, "Dissaray" is a upbeat tune similar to "Spin." I equally enjoyed the following song, "First Time." I think the album's title track (Who We Are) is one of my favorites, with a chorus that just won't get out of your head. "Broken" is one of the very few slow songs on here, and it's a very good one, making it likely to be the next single. "The Joke" is probably one of the worst songs I've ever heard from Lifehouse. I know that sounds harsh, but seeing as how I've never heard a bad song from them, that still leaves the song being ok. I just didn't care for Jason's wailing, especially after such a mellow track. "Make Me Over" is a very nice song, it has a great chorus and I think it could also be a good single. "Learn You Inside Out" sounds different for the band, using a very meloncholy piano and some unique singing from Jason. This is also one of my favorites from the album. The album closes with "Storm", and for the first minute or so, it's just Jason singing. It sounds excellent, and the music comes in very tastfully. Lifehouse is one of those bands that doesn't require a lot of change, and if you like the albums they've put out in the past, I can't see why you wouldn't like this one as well. They stick to what they're good at, but also bring in the occasional surprise.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Solid album by Lifehouse; as usual.
They've done it again. Solid tracks like disarray, broken, whatever it takes, storm, make me over will keep this CD in my player for a long time.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Lifehouse starting to move in the right direction.
I have been a fan of Lifehouse since "No Name Face," and for the most part I've had mixed feelings about the band. I typically enjoy some of the songs and the values they stood for, but with "Stanley Climbfall" and "Lifehouse," their two previous releases, I've felt like the songs were rather bland with a few exceptions ("Spin" from "Stanley Climbfall" and "You and Me" from their self-titled album). This album is a vast improvement, easily their best work since "No Name Face" and signs that Lifehouse is developing more of a unique sound to establish itself in mainstream rock and adult contemperary music.

"Disarray" kicks off the album reminiscent of "No Name Face" and "Hanging by a Moment." "Disarray" comes across a bit weird in the chorus but overall is a good lead-in to the single, "First Time," which sounds similar to previous Lifehouse singles but is still a solid single.

The best songs on the album occur in succession: "Whatever It Takes," "Who We Are," "Broken," and "The Joke." The final 2 stretch out Lifehouse's range as a band the most, making the sounds both catchy and extremely memorable in their catalogue of music.

After that, the band then goes into a few stale numbers ("Bridges" and "Make Me Over" don't offer much beyond what Jason Wade has already said) but the album closes with "Learn You Inside Out" and "Storm," a beautiful ballad that shows off Wade's ability to carry a song. It, along with "Broken" and "The Joke," easily dominate this albulm. Personally I'm pleased with the purchase, and I reccomend it to all Lifehouse fans.
