Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Buy this CD!
I have been listening to this CD non stop for the last 2 weeks and never skip a song. This one has so many upbeat rock songs and some amazingly beautiful ballads as well. "Whatever it Takes" will surpass You & Me when it hits radio, I guarantee it. Jason sings that one with such emotion. His vocals throughout Who We Are are nothing short of amazing.

I've read some comments on track #6, The Joke. This is probably one of Wade's most brilliant works. It is about the true story of a 13 year old boy in the UK who committed suicide because he was being bullied. Wade has said he tried several different types of music for this track, but when they put it with the uptempo, pop music, that really worked. The lyrics are very dark, but the song is very catchy. Brilliant, in my opinion.

I saw them perform several of these songs live last week, and Broken, by far is the most meaningful song to Jason Wade. This song performed live will mesmerize you and break your heart. This song is written about a friend of his from his teen years who is dying and needs a kidney transplant. Wade says he wrote this song in 10 minutes with tears streaming down his face after spending the day with his friend. Lyrically, it's one of his best works and very moving.

Who We Are is brilliant. I can't recommend it enough!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Lyrically strong, artistically encouraging, musically awesome
Picked this cd up a few days after it released and saw the guys on tour with goo goo dolls at Red Rocks in Morrison Colorado and all i can say is: the new songs are packed with great content and awesome delivery. Jason Wade provides some great insight and optimism in the midst of an industry that often lives off of pain and depression with no signs of hope... this is good stuff. Playing this one over and over... I'll get back to the last three albums in time...

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - I'm glad the wait is over!
I own all of the Lifehouse albums and I would say that this one offers the greatest display of their versatility and range. However, some songs take a listen or two before they begin to resonate to the ear. Overall a great album.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Back To What We Love
I've honestly enjoyed all of Lifehouse's albums, but none so much as the first one, until now. This CD is much more like the band's debut album-it is edgier, the lyrics are more substantial, it has a couple of nice ballads, and it definitely has more of an overall rock feel reminiscent of the Hanging By A Moment and Quasimodo. It's a must if you've ever enjoyed any of Lifehouse's songs-all of the songs are enjoyable, rather than just filler centered around a couple of hits like so many alternative albums lately. Give it a shot.

Rating: 3 out of 5 stars - come on Wade...a little disappointing
I tell you what , lifehouse is such a great band. Wade is a great song wrter, even on the guitar. I loved the last 3 albums, especially the last 2. I think the "Stanley Climbfall" was a step in the right direction, the changed the sound from pop rock with a couple acoustic songs for a more explorative sound in "stanley climbfall" and more live tone to some of the songs, also Wade became more melodic in singing and range. The best lifehouse album came next I think, "Lifehouse" was full of meaningful songs with passion from Wades voice, I think "blind" is the best song to date. Now two years later "who we are " has released and I find it a bit disappointing all around. It sound a recycled a little, " the joke" sounds a little bit like "Its just another name", Its almost like a continuation of "Lifehouse" more less explorative, the songs are just simple pop songs. I think some are great, dont get me wrong, but Just does not follow up to any of their albums previously released. "broken" and "learn you inside out" are great, but still does not hold up, even the newer version of "storm" still is slow and crappy, I expected some orchestra to be in this one or something. the worst song on the album. thanks
