Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Better than expected
great band, great music. DVD with "old" hits is a bonus but i can only watch it in computer 'cos Im in Iceland but this one is for US and Canada - Anyway, my mistake!
I cannot say this cd is the best from Muse so far but whatever, all of them are good. Bellamy is a genious, no doubt.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Muse is one of the greatest bands Ever!!!
Muse has always been my favorite band. Black holes & Revelations is just the latest addition as to why they are my favorite. The lyrics are beyond deep and they have no problem expressing exactly the emotion intended with both their soulfilled singing and emotionally charged music. The entire cd is fantastic and almost breathtaking!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - It's like QOTSA meet ELO and have a kid
If you've been walking around p-o'd because Queens of the Stone Age and Electric Light Orchestra haven't collaborated on an album, pick up Black Holes and Revelations. This may be the best album I've heard in a long time. I'll give it to the U.K. - with bands like Muse and The Go! Team bringing back synthy pop-rock goodness, American music is doomed to fade.

Long live the re-emergence of ROCK!!!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Progress = GOOD!!!
I have to admit, I would never have bought a Muse CD previous to this album. I had heard of them before, but they weren't really my cup of tea, so to speak!

This all changed when I first heard Supermassive Blackhole on the radio. I was pleasantly surprised to be informed it was Muse. Starlight only reinforced my changing opinion of them.

I purchased the CD and I initially found it a little inaccessible besides the first two singles. After a few listens these preconceptions faded away. I am always attracted to bands that progress. Changing the 'sound', experimenting with new instruments and styles are always preferable to those lesser bands that stupidly resist any form of progression. I hate Razorlight! (arrogant aswell!)

Muse have done themselves a great favour in this album as I am convinced they have garnered themselves with new fans that wouldn't otherwise have considered listening to them. As to the idiots who cry 'sell-out', I simply don't understand that, if they have introduced Dance and Electronica, aswell as 'pop' elements to their sound, so what? Are you suggesting that these are inferior genres to 'rock' - most people acknowledge this is not the case... Those people who aren't able to adapt there listening styles and reject any form of development are just reactionary philistines. Go away.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - See these guys live...
As I said in my other review for their 'Absolution' CD, to really appreciate Muse you have to see them live. This CD tends to go a little more experimental then 'Absolution' but the experiment pays off.

It really sounds like they really took a lot more influence in this CD, playing songs that sound like took some sonic lessons from Queen, Led Zeppelin, U2 among others. When Muse rocks, they rock hard. I have to say aside from my Arcade Fire CDs, this is one of the recently bought CDs that I have listened to front to back. I can't say that about a good majority of my CDs, let alone ones I have bought in the last two years. Let's go over the track list and my individual track ratings:

1. Take A Bow - (4/5)
2. Starlight - (5/5)(my second favorite track on this disc)
3. Supermassive Black Hole - (5/5)(My favorite track on this disc)
4. Map Of The Problematique - (5/5)
5. Soldier's Poem - (4/5)
6. Invincible - (5/5)
7. Assasin - (5/5)
8. Exo-Politics - (4/5)
9. City Of Delusion - (5/5)
10. Hoodoo - (4/5)
11. Knights Of Cydonia - (5/5)

So as you can see, I really, really enjoyed this disc. Again, Muse is one of the bands I sort of discovered by listening to the radio, I bought their CDs, then saw them live, and now I absolutely love Muse. If you love your rock a little experimental, loud, soft and sonic all at the same time, get this CD, pickup the other Muse CDs, and by all means go see these guys live.
