Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - More Fantastic, Compelling Post-Modernism From Yorke
For those who can't really ever get enough Radiohead (like me), this is an excellent and sublime addition to Thom Yorke's ever-growing body of work. More subdued and less grandiose than much of Radiohead's work, this one-man release also seems more intimate and personal. Yorke invents a new angle to the proceedings more than once, and experiments to a much greater extent with warm vocal melodies, synth textures, techno-like drum programming, and an overall electronica aesthetic in some ways similiar to Radiohead's "Kid A". There are some subtle guitar stylings and embellishments (the fantastic and hypnotic "Black Swan", for example) and great atmospherics imbued with Yorke's signature surrealist style. As much as I love all of the members of his "main gig", and value their contributions, this really shows how central and influential Thom Yorke is to Radiohead as an entity. Highly recommended!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great album
This is a such a great CD. The EP, Splitting Feathers is hot as well. Really great melodies, trans elements and alternative roots. Better than any Radiohead album in the last decade.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Album Of The Year
Everyone else has already said it, all there is to add is that this is the Album Of The Year. Magic.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Radiohead Fans Enjoy
Thom York has a beautiful voice and a wonderful talent for making music that is not able to be defined. Is it Techno? Kind of, but also mellow. I don't normally think of Techno as mellow. But, Thom York makes it that way. Radiohead is fantastic and Thom York proves that he can do it Solo too.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - like, but not, Radiohead, several great songs
This is a pretty high energy, beat-driven album, with lots of unusual guitar. It's clear this is a collection of songs, and not an album with any real flow. It probably maps most closely to Kid A, as it's heavy on electronic sounds but has several guitar-driven songs.

There are several great songs on this album: The Eraser, Black Swan, and And It Rained All Night are worth the album price alone. Black Swan is one groovy song that will hook you with a quickness.

Analyze, Clock, and Harrowdown are good not great songs for my taste. Skip, Atoms, and Cymbal... well, I just don't like really.

One other note since previous reviewers are in conflict on the matter - The Eraser is definitely Radiohead-like though it certainly has its differences. Who would argue that Thom isn't a huge influence within Radiohead? Therefore, his album must be similar to Radiohead albums on one level, while obviously it's not exactly the same.
