- If you love truth, strength and beauty then this CD is for you!
Raw, honest, pure, just like REAL COUNTRY MUSIC used to be! The best country album I have heard since I was a kid. I know every word to every song, now! This is going to be a hard one to top but the way they fearlessly opened themselves up on this one only makes me feel confident that they WILL DO IT AGAIN. Congratulations ladies for being strong & not afraid to share who you really are. THESE are the "dixie chicks" I LOVE!!!!!!!!!!

I hope, The Long Way Around, Lullaby and Not Ready To Make Nice are all excellent songs, and yes, Natalie is one amazing vocalist. I bought this cd out of support for the Chicks and all the crap they've gone through. Since than I've really fallen in love with this cd, and I will look for more of their releases in the future. And though I agree with Natalie's stance on the president, I wish everyone would get past their politics and listen to the music. It really is outstanding on every level.

Actually had to shut this one off before the end. Maybe it was a bad mood or something, but the voices I fell in love with from previous work really started to grate on my nerves.

This is the only Dixie Chicks album I've ever bought and it is absolutely THE BEST. The music is beautiful, lively, edgy at times, and the lyrics are right on and from the heart. Voices meld better than most groups I've heard in a long time, and the background music (fiddle, banjo, etc) is extraordinary.
I give this item an A+ and recommend everyone buying it.
(Too bad they didn't find someone who could dress them better when they appeared on TV)

Loved every song on this disc...the Chicks make good music, end of story. I can't recommend this enough...it's that good. They've been through so much...and it pours forth in each verse and lyric. Self-reflective, insightful, sometimes funny, sometimes angry and often poignant honest wondering and hopeful. They bare their souls in a stirring mix of almost acoustic simplicity. American underdogs sing courageous in your face.
