- A must have album
Muse are not 'pale imitations' of radiohead. Matthew Bellamy does not sound like Thom Yorke. Why do we have to compare muse to radiohead. Maybe you can hear hints of radiohead, but just look at the music in its own right. Muse's debut is fantastic. A sincere album which actually has some feeling. Which is unusual with the music industry at the moment. Every song is an epic with anthem like choruses. 'Muscle Museum'the lyrics sneered by Matthew Bellamy. with one of the greatest intros of all time. 'Uno' is a chant of a song. This is not a happy album by any means and if u want cheering up, don't buy it. Most of the songs sound bitter. 'Falling Down' is beautiful, a break from the heavier guitars in most of their songs. Unintended actually sees an acoustic guitar come into hand. It's a wonderful album and a nice change from the tide of macho nu-metal bands. Matthew Bellamy with his sweeping voice and guitar acrobatics. It is a must have for any self respecting rock fan.

If you like Radiohead, I really suggest you buy both these band's CDs. Imagine Radiohead slightly heavier and with the addition of pianos in a couple songs like "Sunburn" and "Cave". I actually bought this after downloading only Muscle Museum, which is the best song, very catchy and original. I'm very glad I bought this. Also check out the band Ours if you haven't already.

I usually buy a CD for 1 or 2 songs that I like. I am very picky. The more I listen to the CD, the more my opinion changes...and I start to like some songs more and some songs less.
But Muse is totally different. I just can't stop listening to this one CD. It is the only CD I have ever found where I literally love every song. It blows similar bands like Radiohead, The Pixies, Travis, etc...out of the water.
The beats are all so extremely unique, complex, and consuming. The more you listen to it, the more you love it. Every song ends up "feeling" like a classic song, and you think that everyone will recognioze the beat because it is just SO good. But the fact is, NOBODY seems to know about them.
Everyone I have played this CD to has loved it. And I am talking about techno/rap listeners, Beatles listeners, and hardcore rock listeners. They are just GOOD.

This is one of the most powerful debut albums I've ever heard.This trio can certainly create a noise as loud as Nirvana.Brilliant guitar work-the most amazing vocalist you're likely to hear-Thom Torke meets Jeff Buckley-he can reach the highest notes and also the lowest ones also.His voice is full of angst and it is one f the most amazing things on this c.d.Some of the songs are amazing-especially Sunburn-when it starts and ends with beautiful piano-Cave and Uno are great songs too.And this album is way better then their most recent one.I just can't wait for this band to release a live album-cos they are simply awesome live.
