- WHY I LOVE THIS!
Ok first off, read the title to this review, just to make sure you get this. OK Suburbia is hated by a lot of music fans, FIRST:become film fans and movies with honest characters. NEXT buy a brain. ok forget the last step, Suburbia is a f**king classic, i introduced this move to my friends (knowing its based on a play) and they ALL loved it just as much as i did, because, well it reminded us of who we were in the state we were just getting into, the no-life "we just hang out and hope for a way out" state. Second, the soundtrack provides a good mix of alternative (Sonic Youth) (Girls Against Boys), industrial (Skinny Puppy) ( and a classic opening number for the movie "Town without pitty"
This soundtrack along with watching the film is a must for all (1)teens who look forward to the weekends hanging out with friends , than the mon.-fri. schedule of High School,(2)elder teens 18-20 (face it adult hood doesn't start till 21 , then you're legal for anything) who still havn't quite got away from home to see what the world out there has to offer them. As for those who hate the movie and my review , im GLAD A LOT OF PEOPLE HATED THE FILM, a lot of the times those are the films you remember and cherrish the MOST, LOL i love it when my love for one thing is hated by many.

first of all, the movie was just plain lame. if you thought "kids" was genious you'll love it, but if you've got commen sense don't waste your time.
that said, don't let the bad movie fool you. the soundtrack is pretty good. it starts off with a cover of X's "the unheard music" that unlike most covers, actually does it justice.
track two (bee bee's girl, sonic youth) is by far my favorite and the reason i wanted to hunt down this album. it's a mellow, simple song that despite not seeming to be very catchy will get stuck in your head for days.
the rest of it is decent as well, but some of the songs i could do without. i get bored with bands that scream through thier songs.
all in all, it's decent. even though the album cover makes me cringe it's worth a listen. it's one of those albums you won't listen to often; you'll save it for those days when you're feeling completely bored and cynical.

Aside from the praise that this soundtrach deservedly gets, with cool bands like Sonic Youth, Butthole Surfers and Flaming Lips, the only bad song that sticks out is a really uninspired UNKLE song. Why choose this song, a tune that I can't remember in the film, to Ministry's excellent 'NWO' which was really prominent? These are slim pickings though, because the soundtrack is amazing nonetheless!!

man, this is awesome! i couldn't stand the movie. don't watch it--turn this into the soundtrack for your own life. "Feather in Your Cap" has got to be my all-time favorite Beck song. This version of "Sunday" is perfect, as is "Bee-Bee's Song". and then to end with "Town without Pity"? how cool is that?!

this movie was supposed to wake people the %&*& up,that movie was about us we are them and they are us.it's a mockery of idiots like the good average people who have no life.suburbia was a really good movie,by the way the soundtrack is good to.*smile* *smile*
