Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - One of the Best CD's Ever!
This Cd was great, i don't know how anyone couldn't appreciate the Sublime version of Hong Kung Phooey or many other good songs like eep opp ork ahah or gigantor.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - This is a fun one!
Most of this CD is great. In my opinion, Sponge and Wax didn't do justice to the songs they recorded ("Speed Racer" and "Happy Happy Joy Joy", respectively), but these are the exceptions rather than the rule. The main highlights here are the Violent Femmes' "Eep Opp Ork Ah-Ah", Liz Phair & Material Issue's "Banana Splits", Dig's "Fat Albert", face to face's "Popeye the Sailor Man", the Murmurs' "H.R. Pufnstuf" (very cute rendition!) and Sublime's "Hong Kong Phooey" (this one is REALLY wild, as they go through a variety of tempo changes). Looking forward to more compilations like this in the future.

Rating: 2 out of 5 stars - Saturday Morning Cartoons
This CD is definetly not meant for young children(I bought it for my 6 year old). The "headbanging" sound many of the songs have are nothing like what I remember as a kid. Only 2 or 3 songs would I care to hear again. As well the CD Cover is different than the plain t.v pictured on the site. Zombie like people who look like they've O.D.'d on more than just cartoons, and a skull in the corner...

Rating: 1 out of 5 stars - Jipped Nostalgia
What a jip! What idiot music executive decided to have different artists re-record classic childhood favorites? They were perfect the way they were. I saw the titles and laughed and thought it would be a great source of nostalgia. It was sad to hear them altered. The maker's of the CD just don't get it. "Nostalgia: a wistful or excessively sentimental yearning for return to or of some past period or irrecoverable condition." That means, leave it be.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - ABSOLUTE FUN
The selection of songs and groups on this cd are perfect. It is the right mix to enjoy all your favorite cartoon hits of the 70's and a few newer ones. The majority of groups on this cd play the songs as you remember them with a little touch of their own and their own sound, that in most cases works incredibly. Some of the best are Collective Soul - "The Bugaloos", Ramones - "Spider Man", Dig - "Fat Albert", Mary Lou Lord - "Sugar Sugar" and Juliana Hatfield and Tanya Donelly with "Josie and the Pussycats". What these groups did with these sometimes silly theme songs is give them an edge and turn the into legitimate rock songs. Frente! does a great version of the Pebbles Flintstone song "Open Up Your Heart..". It will bring back alot of memories to all you Flintstone viewers and anyone who rode the "TV Ride" at Kings Island (outside of Cincinnati) in the mid to late 70's. Enjoy this one it is a fnatasic, fun flashback.
