- Excellent Soundtrack!
This is one of the better "soundtracks" of some childlike movie. "Anastasia" is the best movie of princesses that are in the market. That suffers that Disney does not find fact this movie, because asi would be more famous.

A memorable soundtrack to accompany the touching movie. I particularly like Liz Callaway's "Journey to the Past." Her voice reminds me of Miss Saigon star Lea Salonga, whose beautiful voice can be heard in the Aladdin and Mulan soudtracks.

first of all if you like disney movies or they're music you should really get this one ,it's wonderful you'll love it.No matter how old you are you'll love this one , especially the song once upon a december,WOW Liz Callaway's wonderful !!

'Anastasia'is a very beautifull cd, with music that's even more greater than most of the disney soundtrack music.
The reason i don't give it five stars is because there aren't much songs on it, most of it is just instruments playing, and that's too bad. But, apart of that, if you are lookinf for a great soundtrack, it does not even matter if you know the movie or not, buy Anastasia!

This soundtrack is great... it has the songs performed in the movie, instrumental songs and more contemporary versions of the main songs. You will find pop, r&b and even a ballad with a latin touch.
The best song from this album is without a doubt "Once upon a December" (both versions). Aaliyah's version of "Journey to the past" was a good move, i mean, until that point all the main themes for animated movies were ballads or pop tunes, Aaliyah gave it a little bit of r&b and it was very refreshing. Now there is something i want to say, Thalia's "Viaje tiempo atras" is one of the best tracks from this soundtrack (sure, if you dont listen to music that is not in english then you cant give a real opinion). Her voice was really good.
AND THE REASON WHY THIS SOUNDTRACK HAS A SONG IN SPANISH is because the second most popular language in the world is the spanish and the latin market is a gold mine for the movies. If you put a song in spanish in a soundtrack you can get the attention of more buyers and it worked very good for "Anastasia" because the soundtrack was a hit overseas and the spanish song reached the #1 spot in several charts from Latin America, it was the perfect marketing for the movie.
Plus, Thalia did the song in three languages: spanish ("Viaje tiempo atras"), portuguese ("Viagem ao passado") and english for some countries in Asia, so the people from FOX decided to include the spanish version for the reasons i gave you before.
