Rodgers & Hammerstein in Londonby: Original London Cast Release Date September 27, 2004 This excellent volume from Sepia comprises London cast albums from three Rodgers and Hammerstein shows: OKLAHOMA!, CAROUSEL and SOUTH PACIFIC. OKLAHOMA! was almost as successful in London as it was on Broadway, running an amazing 1,548 performances, and starring the relatively-unknown Howard Keel (credited as Harold Keel) as Curly. Betty Jane Watson played Laurey with Dorothea McFarland as Ado Annie, Henry Clarke as Jud Frye and Walter Donahue as Will Parker. As one would imagine, Howard Keel's voice is perfect for Curly. Betty Jane Watson is a lovely Laurey (though one would assume that the high and wild note she hits at the climax of "People Will Say We're in Love" wasn't heard during actual performances).
