It makes only minimal changes to the plot of the original stage show, and keeps most of the original songs; the ones it leaves out ("Annie," "You Won't Be an Orphan for Long," and "Getting a New Deal for Christmas" were my least favorite songs in the stage show; however, I do wish they hadn't cut the sarcastic "We'd Like to Thank You, Herbert Hoover," but I digress...).
