The Best of the Jazz Crusadersby: The Jazz Crusaders Release Date June 15, 1993 years ago, i was sitting in my car, waiting for a friend of mine to get off work. i had tuned into my local jazz radio station to listen to whast they were playing. about 2 songs into the show, "Freedom Sound" came on. i sat there transfixed and mesmerised by this perfect jazz sound. i waited to listen to the dj announce who the group was and it was the aptly named Jazz Crusaders. a band that i had heard about, but had never listened to up to that point in time. well, that night changed all of that and i promptly went to the music store and bought this cd the next day. i was delighted to find that not only is "Freedom Sound" a song that grows better and deeper everytime i listen to it, but that every single song on this album is a bonafide classic. ...
