Crosby, Stills & Nashby: Crosby Stills & Nash Release Date August 16, 1994 When I was 13, my older cousin took my brother and me to an ice cream shoppe in Westport, CT (don't know if it's still there, don't even recall the name). The shoppe had an area that sold candy, merchandise and vinyl records. My cousing bought this album for me. It was my first exposure to rock (being raised on Mantovani, Peter Nero, 101 Strings and Perry Como). The shop was a colorful, magical place, and my cousin took the lp from the shelf and put it in my hands. When I played it at home I was blown away by the harmonies and lush sounds that originated from vinyl records. This is my first rock record, and has always been my favorite. |
