Time Outby: The Dave Brubeck Quartet Release Date March 25, 1997 what can i say about this album that has not already been said.this is by far and away,without a shadow of a doubt the greatest jazz album ever made.as you can hear from the opening track,blue rondo al a turk,with it's,9/8 time,which turns into 4/4 time,to the beautiful strange meadow lark,to the instantly recognizable,take five,which is in 5/4 time.with paul desmonds,smooth and refined playing on the alto saxaphone,and with joe morello,anchoring behind the drum kit.this is definately one for the ages.outstanding cd. |
