Azure-Téby: Karrin Allyson Release Date March 21, 1995 Karrin Allyson (first name pronounced Car-IN), really delivers on this disc. The album contains several jazz standards, such as "Stompin' at the Savoy", "How High the Moon", and "Night and Day". These are mixed with newer music, such as "Samba '88" and the sad, moody French song "Azure-Te". The selections are clever. By weaving the newer music with classic jazz tunes, it allows the listener a new yet comfortable jazz experience. Many of Karrin's albums follow this formula, which has now allowed her to do almost exclusively newer/non-English work on her sixth and latest album, "From Paris to Rio".
