To cut a long story short...Buyers (who are probably willing to pay $ 50 or more for this set) should be aware that Track 13 "Love Shines Down" on CD 1 is not "Love Shines Down" but "Magic Key" again (already Track 1), this time with an incorrect starting code (beginning too abruptly). Looking at the Hip-O homepage you'll find words like "painstakingly remastered". I don't see any painstaking here and I'm annoyed. So 5 stars for the idea of presenting Rare Earth's complete early studio ouput, but one star only only for Hip-O's carelessness.

This set is a godsend. The music is gutsy and soulful. The original cover art is reproduced in all its glory. The sound - despite what others have said - is very good. The price is... well a little high, but worth it if you this type of stuff. A killer set!

it's nice to have this collection of cds in one package. i think rare earth is one of the more underrated, unappreciated bands around. it's been harder than heck to get a complete collection of their material, and the compilations, i just don't trust. i've read the previous reviews and consider them over-critical. the music is great, both in terms of hits and written songs. the box set is over-priced and the packaging awkward. nevertheless, i do enjoy this package as a lot of the material i did not have while growing up.

You've got to be kidding here - $75 for three discs and a paper book? GET REAL. This is perhaps the most overpriced and unoriginal box set of all time. Save yourself the agony of defeat and buy the albums individually.
