Editorial Review:
Album Description: Two CD set. Live from Nowhere in Particular is the 2008 album from Joe Bonamassa, an US blues guitarist/singer. Guitar One Magazine has stated that 'he just might be the best guitarist of his generation.' His blues-rock style is similar to that of Stevie Ray Vaughan's. In an interview in 'Guitarist' magazine (issue 265), Joe Bonamassa cited the three albums that had the biggest influence on his playing: John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers with Eric Clapton (the 'Beano Album'), Rory Gallagher's 'Irish Tour' and 'Goodbye' by Cream.

A very tastefully edited "live" album with songs from different performances of a recent tour....Yes, some of the crowd noise is edited out, maybe taking away some of the "live" feel to this album...that being said, it also brings the music to the forefront...To me..that's what it's all about isn't it??..The music?? Is it pleasurable to hear a screaming fan drowning out the quiet nuances of the songs? I think not.. A perfect echo...the holding on to one wonderful note & letting it fade graciously into silence before the next barrage of powerful notes take it's place...These things deserve to be heard....Kudos to Kevin Shirley for his emphasis on "the music" in producing this wonderful album...Also to Joe, Bogie, Carmine & Rick for their ... the live feel of this record is so good, I just about stood up and clapped after "One of These Days". If you're already a Joe fan, just get it. If you're a new Joe listener, listen to the samples, than just get it.

One of the best live albums of the year, hands down.
The cat can play un-frickin-believable.
One the best blues guitarist out there today.
Scratch that.
One of the best guitar slingers in the world.
His vocals are outstanding also.
I haven't seen him live, but after listening to this countless times, I will most definitely!
Go get this disc!

I have been fortunate to see Joe live a few times now over the past few years, he has matured in that time and this cd shows that maturity. My God, it is good. Just like being there in the flesh. Thank you for releasing this Joe. Reader, switch on the surround sound and crank up the volume, close your eyes and imagine standing in the club surrounded by other fans. It's just a shame he is not there for a chat at the end of it like he normally does. What a great guy and this double cd says it all. Buy it, you will not regret it. Perhaps it will drive you to travel those extra miles to see his next gig and see just what I mean. Joe, if you read these reviews, keep on playing those smaller gigs and keeping it personal, we love it.

Having seen Joe play last night, which was this set, this CD is a must buy. Quality of the recordings is well above average for any live tracks. Joe doesn't do a whole lot of talking in his shows, he lets his music do that which makes this collection of live cuts work as opposed to a single live show. It is a great show case for his Blues-Rock style. I've enjoyed all his work and although he didn't put "Tea For One" in this set which I'd like to hear live, i think you'll be hard pressed to find something on here that you don't like. Seeing it live just made it that more impressive. His best to date.
