Editorial Review: Product Description: Special Edition CD/DVD set includes three bonus tracks. The bonus DVD features a previously unreleased full concert from Warsaw, Poland, 2005. The Soulfly tribe is once again on the warpath. Soulfly' s sixth offering for Roadrunner Records, Conquer, may very well be the musical equivalent of the movie Braveheart. The songs much like the warriors in the film- channel raw, unbridled rage through a cacophony of thrash guitars, infectious grooves, tribal polyrhythms and Max Cavalera' s unmistakable, thunderous roar. On this record, Soulfly unleash a metallic mayhem unlike anything they' ve done previously. Conquer shifts from unrelenting, precise speed metal to slow, brooding doom. Marc Rizzo' s lead guitar rips with the precision of a smart bomb, while Bobby Burns grinds out volatile, chest-caving bass lines. Drummer Joe Nunez crushes behind the kit, forging a rhythmic background for all-out sonic war. Once again, it s the legendary Max Cavalera who stands at the eye of the storm, uniting the musical tribe and acting as its unofficial leader.  Rating:  - amazing albumtook me few couple of weeks to understand how amazing this album is and how cleverly thrash metal elements have been used. awesome album!! Rating: - conquer this is an awesome album,but I would of liked a little more of the darkages flavor (just my opinion), but Marc Rizzo's guitar work is awesome again. another great album from soulfly. the dvd live performance is awesome. a must have for any fan of soulfly Rating: - Five StarsExcellet cd/dvd very good concert in live I think that Soulfly haves a place in the history of heavy metal Rating: - Album Of The Year yes folks we have it right here 2008 album of the year and it is Labor Day weekend so not much left to come out besides the new Metallica so anyway lets get down to business this one took me by surprise because the last Soulfly album Dark Ages was borderline incredible this one is arguably thier finest moment clocks in at 71 minutes or so and never a dull moment they tear your head off with their thrash and then they get into experimental tribal stuff which is common for them but just briefly in most songs, highlights include most everything but # 1 blood fire war hate is a great starter # 3 paranoia # 4 warmageddon # 7 fall of the Psychophants #8 Doom and especially # 10 touching the void total Black Sabbath worship {they even say in the ... You see, these were the first words that came up to my mind the first time I listened to Soulfly's Conquer CD/DVD set. It's fast, aggresive, and a good ol battle attack, it's just like you are ready for a brawl! Once you are at a pit in a Soulfly gig, ooh boy! (believe me, I have seen it with my very own two eyes) Needless to say it is ON! Every track spits fire in its own way inlcuding the bonus tracks of the Bad Brains and Marilyn Manson covers, they nailed it good! The DVD gets even better as you start to view it, although they do not perform any of the Conquer tracks in it, since it was filmed and captured live in 2005 in Warsaw, Poland.
