Editorial Review:
Album Description: Ever since the November 2007 digital release of the hilarious, zeitgeist-capturing single "Ur So Gay," Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Katy Perry has been wowing critics and fans alike (including the Queen of Pop herself, Madonna) with her big voice, sassy attitude, and feisty, confessional songs. Katy's debut album, One of the Boys, is a sharp, witty pop-rock gem filled with candid tales of neurotic ex-boyfriends ("Hot N Cold," "Ur So Gay"), crazy road trips with friends ("Waking Up in Vegas"), and figuring out who you are along the way (first single "I Kissed A Girl," "Fingerprints"). While the album displays Katy's feisty, girl-power swagger, it also reveals her more vulnerable side on such regretful ballads as "Lost," "I'm Still Breathing," and "Thinking of You." Although just 23, the Santa Barbara, CA-born native has been writing songs and playing guitar for several years, and possesses the flair and confidence of a veteran storyteller. Catch her in all her glory this summer when she joins the Vans Warped Tour for its entire coast-to-coast run.

Noisiy guitar riffs, loud vocals, risky lyrics and cheesy slow ballads made this album just perfect for lost teenagers who are looking for a new Avril Lavinge to follow.
Apart from a few good ones, including of course the hit singles, there's not really much new on this "Pink-meets-Avril Lavinge-wannabe-Alanis Morisette" experiment.
The good ones are really good and the other ones, well, are just not much relevant... Probably, rather than releasing full album, a Maxi-EP would have been better enough as one can feel how some of the cuts are in here just for filling.
Good, but not much more of it.

Great songs, and not just "I Kissed a Girl". The whole album is good. Definately worth a listen and a buy.

CD was a copy-and a bad one at that. Just the album copied badly on to a blank CD- no case, no nothing on the CD either. I wasn't very impressed at all.....

I first saw and heard Katy Perry on an episode of "The View."
I watched in awe as she strutted herself about the stage and mingled with the audience.
What a stage presence! What a song!
Oh, yeah, the song was "I Kissed A Girl."
After her performance, I was totally hooked so I went on Amazon.com and bought the LP "One Of The Boys."
Now I am not a huge fan of today's music. My cut-off point is usually 1980's music. However as I listened to songs like "Waking Up In Vegas", the title cut, "Thinking Of You", and the hit "Ur So Gay," I instantly beacame a fan.
I can hardly wait for her next lp...
