Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: Multi-platinum recording artist Barenaked Ladies will release Snacktime, a collection of 24 original children’s songs through their imprint label Desperation Records. "Our collective kids now outnumber the band more than 2 to 1," explains vocalist/guitarist Ed Robertson. "We set out to make a record that would be entertaining for them … not strictly a children’s record, but a record that children would really enjoy. Our kids are into all kinds of music. Making the focus about what our kids like was a truly liberating process and fun for the whole band."

This is a fun CD and not the usual kids songs. My favorite is the song about my sister's coat, very funny.

I knew I'd be making a good choice with this CD, my kids like the other Barenaked Ladies CDs already...and we were not disappointed. Always witty and clever, they have done it again! I felt really good about getting this CD for my 7 yr old, who loves rock music! And my husband and I love it too! We can listen to something in the car that is appropriate for everyone.

This music is fun for the whole family. The more we listen to it, the more we love it. A few things don't quite fit with our family beliefs (people come from apes), so we've approached that as a teaching opportunity. We love the humor and intelligent lyrics. Great CD; we highly recommend it!

I've been a BNL fan for quite some time now, but don't have any kids. Usually, I run out and get a new BNL album when there is one - I was a bit slow on the uptake here as well as for Barenaked Ladies Are Me.
I wasn't disappointed that time, but this time I was, not knowing that this is a children's album. That's all well and good for parents or younger folks, but I wasn't expecting this and as a result, I wish I'd looked to see what kind of album this was before I got it. It's a good album for kids and parents, but it was somewhat disappointing for me, since I was expecting more of the same. Some of the tracks are fun, but on the whole it was a forgettable album.
That said, if I do have children, I'll have to pick ... Read More:

This is an album that is enjoyable to me, my husband and 2 year old boy. Vegetable Town is our favorite! And what a treat it was to find various Canadian musicians like Geddy Lee from Rush, telling what his favorite snack food is! We highly recommend this album-so easy to listen to.
