Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: This packed double-disc is the slim option for fans who find the Eagles' vaunted greatest hits sets too little and the boxed set too hefty. Hit singles large and medium are here, often ("One of These Nights," "Hotel California") still sounding definitive and even tough. Large helpings of favorite album cuts are also included, along with a taster from a promised 2004 Eagles studio reunion. Unfortunately, "Hole in the World," Don Henley's response to September 11, feels just as empty and entitled as "Get Over It," the band's previous state-of-the-union message (from which the newer song represents a philosophical 180-degree turn). But for those seeking an overview of this Southern California juggernaut's successes, as well as telling comments from band members--mostly Henley and Frey--in a well-designed booklet, Very Best will more than do. --Rickey Wright

Eagles - The Very Best Of is the reissued two disk collection that was originally re-released in 2003. Having a lot of this music on box sets and vinyl, I didn't pick it up then but I have now. Overall, I am actually very impressed with this collection. There are a few things that I personally would have changed but this is no doubt a very nice collection, particularly for casual fans who don't own many Eagles albums already.
First of all, this is a best of collection that truly lives up to its name, at least if you go by songs that people can recognize. Basically all the most recognizable hits are here, and there's a nice mix of great songs that are less well known too. So this is a great way for casual fans to get the music ... Read More:

Eagles is one of my all time favorite bands, and I love to play their songs especially when driving. There is just something about "Peaceful, easy feeling" and "Tequila Sunrise" which lends itself to driving down long distances gazing into the horizon. This set lives up to its "Very Best of" title. It has all the Eagles gems in one solid collection.
Although I already owned almost all the songs and had them on my MP3 player, it was good to get the 4-5 songs I did not have in one collection for easy playing. I still use CDs in my car as hooking up the MP3 player to car speakers through FM produces too much static.
The good news was that this set was only $3.99 in the gold box deal AND came with a little booklet with some ... Read More:

Eagles has issued so many greatest hits before. If you don't have one yet, this is the one to buy. For those who don't know, their Greatest Hits 1971-1975 is the best selling record of all time in the US! Sold more than Michael Jackson's "Thriller", Pink Floyd's "The Wall" or Led Zep's "IV". But the previous Greatest Hits does not have Hotel California, it does not have New Kid in Town, nor Heartache Tonight, nor Get Over It, nor Please Come Home For Christmas...and many more classics. This is the most complete collection so far. The band is still touring and still making records. Their latest one, "Long Road Out of Eden", though a very solid record, the only one that is clearly a greatest hits material is "How Long".

This is probably the best purchase i made with my money. Fantastic collection, very good music quality. There is no need to read reviews for a fine product like this. Just buy it.
