Editorial Review:
Album Description: First ever British CD issue for these two pioneering Philly Soul albums, by one of the most unique and beloved groups ever to emerge from the City Of Brotherly Love.
Between 1968 and 1974, the Delfonics racked 20 US Soul Chart hits. 12 of those made the Top 20, and all but two of them also crossed over to Pop.
Among those hits were 'La La Means I Love You', 'Break Your Promise' and 'Ready Or Not Here I Come', which ushered in the era of the classic Sound Of Philadelphia and introduced the world to the genius of songwriter-arranger Thom Bell.
All of those tracks are featured here, alongside other Delfonics Top 20 hits 'I'm Sorry' and 'You Got Yours And I'll Get Mine' (a bonus track, not included on either of these two original albums).
Top-notch mastering from the original Philly Groove/Bell production tapes, means that these great recordings now sound better than they ever did.
A must for all lovers of classic group soul of any era.

Firstly there is NOTHING sub standard or below par of this CD. This so called Bob is an idiot who needs his ears cleaned. Stop trying to think you have a golden ear. You don't. I've had this CD since the beginning of 2008.
As for the music it's classic, classy and sexy soul. Some OK covers, yet many of these have been done over in reggae, notably'La La','Break Your Promise','Losing You',and 'I'm Sorry.
This is an great introduction to this legendary group that's well presented by those good people at Ace Records. It puts todays so called R&B to shame.

Even though I owned all three of the 2001 Buddah remasters of the first three Delfonics albums, I purchased this 2008 disc, due to the claim of being newly-remastered for this release.
Unfortunately, as soon as I A/B-compared them, I found the Buddah's to be head-and-shoulders superior to the audio on this CD. In fact, the Buddah's sound so much better, I don't think ANYTHING new was done to this release, audio-wise.
If you want to hear the best audio of both these albums, buy the Buddah's:
La La Means Love You
Sound Of Sexy Soul
The Delfonics
Unfortunately, the Buddah's are now OOP, but used copies are usually available here on Amazon, and also on eBay and Half.

If you love classic soul music like I do, this is the BEST one-two-package anywhere. The Delfonics (with Tom Bell) were never better than displayed in this two cd set. My favorite and probably your favorite Delfonic songs are right here in this cd set. They finally got it right this time!
