Product Description: TIMELORD s Regeneration features the twin guitar speed-metal attack of guitarists Matt Aub and Aaron Richert. Intelligent compositions, soaring vocal melodies, intricate water-tight rhythms, blazing harmony leads and a rock-solid rhythm section are the core elements of TIMELORD s commanding aural assault. Recommended for fans of high quality progressive metal artists such as Shrapnel s Cacophony and Racer X .

These guys can play. Let's get that out of the way immediately. This, of course, makes perfect sense, as the band's debut release comes courtesy of the venerable progenitors of all that has become "shred", Shrapnel Records. Timelord are a very old-school styled aggressive, chops-oriented prog-metal band, which would have sounded right at home in 1987 alongside such Shrapnel artists as Jason Becker and Racer X. Intricate, lengthy songs and unbelievably complex and technical soloing is simply crammed into this epic, rather neo-classical-tinged album. The vocals are of the ear-piercing, operatic variety as well, and are somewhat reminiscent of the band Sun Caged.
The only problem with this is that the production values sound dated ... Read More:

TimeLord's "Regeneration" contains 10 songs of technical and melodic speed-metal. The music is comparable to Megadeth,Iced Earth and Blind Guardian. The vocals are in the Dickinson/Halford/Tate-vein. The guitar leads are very technical a la "Rust in Peace"-era Megadeth,Cacophony,Racer X,Nevermore, etc. The harmony runs are intense- no other modern band except for TimeLord can do this stuff live. The best thing about TimeLord is the integrity of the guitar riffing...there are no Pantera rip-off riffs or sloppy detuned garbage to be found here. This is 100% metal...no eyeliner,no black fingernail polish,no tattoos,no angry skateboarders screaming about nonsense- just 100% balls-to-the-wall HEAVY-METAL. Buy it.

The thing about rock and metal music is that guitar riffs are the real hook in the music unlike in country and pop styles where the vocals and lyrics take center stage. Though solos and theme melodies are making a comeback in metal music, most bands don't really have a lot of real guitar riffs happening. Timelord restores the integrity of riffing in the modern metal scene. Thrashy rhythms and melodic chorus sections with some awesome dual soloing puts a very cool, American slant on what is increasingly a Europe dominated genre.
