His US R&B chart-hit pedigree rivals those of his peers Muddy Waters and Little Walter, and he stands good comparison with Jimmy Reed and John Lee Hooker, who shared his rise to trans-Atlantic fame during the '60s. He is known as Howlin’ Wolf, and sometimes simply as 'The Wolf'. This collection features 48 classics including album cuts, single versions and a whole lot more. A great anthology of Wolf. He had a long career but in my opinion (or wish) he could have recorded much more. So that said, this double CD has most of his best stuff. Check out his live albums also.
