Editorial Review:
Album Description: 2006 'reunion' album from one of the UK's best selling boybands. Their first album in over 10 years, Beautiful World reunites four of the five original members including leader/songwriter Gary Barlow (the fifth member, international solo superstar Robbie Williams was invited but graciously declined). 11 tracks including the single 'Patience'. Polydor.
From Amazon.co.uk: It's been a long ten years since Take That disbanded. Their recent reformation and world tour offered overwhelming evidence that, far from being forgotten, the post-Robbie quartet can still command hysterical amounts of goodwill and adoration. Beautiful World illustrates why this is so. Written in conjunction with songwriter/producer John Shanks (Ashlee Simpson, Anastacia, Alanis Morissette), the album is crammed full with the songwriting magic that made their rise to fame so meteoric in the first place. Far from being an exercise in nostalgia, the project moves the band in a slightly new direction. The four come across as more mature, more democratic (all members share songwriting credits on the album, rather than just Barlow), and even more adept at making epic pop that somehow avoids the cheese factor. Lead single "Patience" is a perfect example of how powerful and accessible their songs can be. It'd be a good contender for the album's peak moment if the rest of the tracks weren't so damn good too. With traditional Take That style songs (the immediately likeable "Reach Out", the brimming "Like I Never Loved You At All"), nicely punctuated up by incongruous outings like Jason Orange's folkish "Wooden Boat" and Mark's upbeat, Beatles-esque "Shine", Beautiful World sets a whole new standard for a band previously known more for their singles than their long-players.--Danny McKenna

I've known of Take That since their first time around in the 90's. I discovered them while vacationing in Italy - saw them on MTV in my hotel room. Heard this amazing voice singing the all-time great song "Back For Good" and looked into the eyes of Gary Barlow. It's been love ever since! I spent $3000 to go see them in concert on NYE in London - waited 12 years for that!
I'm so pleased to see that so many new US fans have discovered them. Watch out for their next album due out Xmas of 2008 and followed with another European tour! Unfortunately we probably won't get them over here since the talks are that this will be their last.
Be sure to check out Robbie Williams too. For those of you who don't know, he used to ... Read More:

Take That were once one of the greatest boybands in the world and their split in 1996 really sent the female fans into turmoil as they tried to come to terms with them no longer being a 4 or 5 piece. Before officially reforming they did try to get together as a 5 piece but news was reported that Robbie had turned the offer down because he felt he was too big of a star to go back to Take That. When you talk about bad decisions you should talk about Robbie Williams turning down the offer to help reform Take That, as they did what nobody saw coming and they took the UK by storm once again and repeated the magic that they once had. This time around they had a maturity that wasn't recognisable from their original days when they were dancing around ... Read More:

After watching the film "Stardust" and listening to THE song "Rule the World" by the Group called "Take That" during the film's credits, I fell in love with this song and Group!! I had never heard of this group or song before, but went on to purchase both of these CD's "Beautiful World" and "Rule The World". All the songs are great and in my opinion, should ALL be number one hits. I just wonder why I haven't heard of them before, why they are not played on US radio stations, and why not so well known here. I think they would be a big hit here if they toured in the US and our radio stations played them.
