Editorial Review:
Album Description: Soundtrack to a comedy adventure--Happy Feet is set deep in Antarctica. Into the land of the Emperor Penguins where each needs a heart song to attract a sould mate, a penguin is born who cannot sing. Our hero Mumble, son of Memphis and Norma Jean, is the worst singer in the world...however, as it happens, he is a brilliant tap dancer!
Amazon.com: If the producers of the movie Happy Feet had enough foresight, they would have dispatched a CD vendor with batches of this disc to every theater exit sign in America. Outside of Shrek and The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, few kiddie flicks have fed a need to hear certain songs again as effectively. That's in part because of "Song of the Heart," a suitably frisky Prince number you won't find anywhere else. But it also has something to do with the efforts of some unlikely performers. Who knew Brittany Murphy could sing? "Boogie Wonderland," her cover of the '70s classic, crackles with big-voiced confidence, and "Somebody to Love," another classic cover, claws listeners in by the flipper-ful. Even Robin Williams's typically manic "My Way (a Mi Manera)" isn't without its charms. Nicole Kidman's "Kiss" mashed with Hugh Jackman's "Heartbreak Hotel" may be among the disc's weaker moments, but the grownups will like it that way--with their kind of star wattage, they're already stealing enough shows. And there's plenty to focus on besides them: standouts include Pink's untethered rendition of "Tell Me Something Good," k.d. lang's beautiful Beatles medley "Golden Slumbers/The End," and the Beach Boys' underappreciated gem, "Do It Again." --Tammy La Gorce

Wow. I should have carefully read the reviews. There are some tracks on here that spark memories of the movie (purpose of a soundtrack, perhaps?). There are tracks that seem to be missing. The tracks that are here are... out of order? What gives with that? Didn't the producer of this product watch the movie? Do the studios have any idea why we don't care to support their RIAA blunders, or their 'product'.
This is a lousy excuse for a soundtrack. It offers precious little to 'add' to the film experience. And I'll be sure to avoid a Warner Brothers / Atlantic Records collaboration in the future. How disappointing.

The soundtrack is highly disappointing and is a great slap in he face to the voices and spirit of the movie. I wouldn't encourage anyone to purchase this album.

The Happy Feet CD is everything I expected. It has such a veriety of talented artist that you could not be disappointed. I am an adult with two young children, but I bought the CD for myself after watching the moving again with my youngest. The music is so upbeat that I use for my workouts. Ofcourse my children enjoy os well.

I purchased this product for my daughter. She loves the CD but it took so long to get here we forgot we ordered it.

I agree with most of the previous reviews that the CD did NOT carry a lot of the music in the movie. And I ask "why not?"
OK, the re-done songs by Brittany Murphy and Robin Williams are cool. I can even get with the fact that the only reason they re-did them was so their voices matched the voices in the movie.
I can't get enough of the song "Hit Me Up" by Gia Farrell. The CD sits in my car CD player on "1 song repeat" only on this song.
If you can download just this song onto your MP3 player or iPod, then just get the one song.
Otherwise, make sure you listen to samples of ALL the songs to make sure you really want to buy the entire CD.
I hope for a "reprise" too. HEY MOVIE PRODUCERS ... Read More:
