Product Description: \N
Amazon.com: Some music is celebrated for its elegant subtlety; Pink's slams you over the head. Four albums in, she's not changing her formula. I'm Not Dead touches on bulimia ("Stupid Girls"), war-mongering politicians ("Dear Mr. President"), teen angst ("Conversations With My 13 Year Old Self," "Runaway"), overheated pickup artists ("U + Ur Hand"), and gross materialism ("I Got Money Now"). None of it, in other words, is for featherweight listeners. Then again, none of it suits eggheaded college tastemakers either. Where this translates, then, is with those willing to man up and embrace what makes Pink Pink: her spellbinding ability to render rebelliousness in all the many colors of the rainbow. Neil Young-inspired acoustic guitar is sketched into "The One That Got Away," but it's just as quickly scribbled over by Joan Jett-style ranting (on "Long Way to Happy") and Janis Joplin/Joss Stone-fueled howling (on "Who Knew"). Even R&B gets its turn ("I Got Money Now"). The album also includes appearances from the Indigo Girls, who duet on "Dear Mr. President," and Pink's father, who joins for the hidden track "I Have Seen The Rain." Pink pulls all of this off, and probably without even breathing hard. She's not dead. --Tammy La Gorce

Vocal Powerhouse Pink has given us a set of good songs: including "Stupid Girls", "Who Knew" and "Dear Mr President" which features The Indio Girls. Pink has become vocal about the 2008 Presidential race - Interestingly, in the 2008 Presidential Primary race, New York Senator Hillary Clinton earned more Votes than any other Presidential Primary candidate in American history (hillaryclintonforum, the denver group)

I purchased the CD because I love the song "Who Knew." There are a few other good songs on the CD, but I especially like the last cut. It's an acoustic guitar version of a song that she performs with a dad. Full of harmony. Beautiful.
I also received it right on time.
The only concern I have - and this is not about the CD per se, is that whenever I order CDs on line by Amazon, I get numerous e-mails written in other languages, other alphabets, some of which contain potential viruses.

Pink is the type of artist I normally would buy but I got hooked off the radio. Unlike other pop albums, I was pleased to find out this wasn't a few good tunes and a bunch of filler. Each song is decent to good.

I got this CD through the Pepsi Stuff promotion, mainly because I love the song "Who Knew". I'm middle aged and assumed I'd like just that one track. I never expected to discover so many great songs with such intelligent and often funny lyrics. I'm now realizing many of the songs I've heard and liked on the radio were Pink.
While I still can't get enough of "Who Knew" - and I agree with another reviewer that the song must be one of the best songs ever - I'm equally smitten with the energy, catchy tunes and attitude of "Leave Me Alone/I'm Lonely" and "U and UR Hand". I've had a hard time getting myself to stop playing them long enough to give the other tracks a fair listen, so I'm still discovering gems among them.

I bought this mostly for "You and Your Hand". However, while that's still a favorite, "Dear Mr. President" is excellent as well as the "Stupid Girls" which is being played on air. There is also a bonus track not listed that is done by Pink and her dad about his Vietnam War experience which is very good. The insert to the cd (the paper thing with the lyrics) is also quite interesting. It has many pictures and her "insights" to the cd, life, etc. I would definitely recommend it, am glad I bought it and I will NOT be putting it on eBay as I do many cds I buy and don't care for!
