Editorial Review:
Amazon.com: In celebration of Beastie Boys' 24th anniversary, Capitol Records has decided to pay tribute to Michael "Mike D" Diamond, Adam "Adrock" Horovitz and Adam "MCA" Yauch-- known collectively as Beastie Boys, with the release of Solid Gold Hits. (No, the group is not breaking up.) The infomercial-worthy 15-track compendium distills the NYC trio's storied career into an ADD-friendly digest format: Covering the Boys' first platinum-mining expeditions with "No Sleep 'Til Brooklyn" and "Fight For Your Right" through west coast detours "Shake Your Rump," "So What'cha Want" and "Sabotage," up to last year's return to #1 with the million-plus-selling To The 5 Boroughs' "Ch-Check It Out," "An Open Letter To NYC" and "Triple Trouble" -and all points between.

Great cd compilation of the original Brooklyn white-boy rappers. This cd has all of their hits, establishing them as one of the original Def Jam, old-school rappers. I love how they included other non-typical hip-hop instruments into their tracks such as rock guitar riffs.
A must in any one's hip-hop/rap collection.
Definitely your money's worth.

While the songs are great, the quality is not good. It sounds like they were recorded from the original masters with nothing being done to improve the transfer. So the older songs sound tinny and grainy, which is very noticable when played on a good stereo.

Full studio versions from the beginning to present in their career of all the important hits. Get this!

You know you just cant beat the Beastie Boys. The tracks are just fun to listen to. I have pretty much all there records but I had to grab this.

Well, it basically collects their most "Well-known" hits, but I think it missed some really good ones, like:
Three MC's and One DJ - Hello Nasty
Remote Control - Hello Nasty
Hey F**k You - To The Five Boroughs
Regardless, it's still a pretty good collection, I'd reccomend it.
