He and his assorted four-legged pals conjure plenty of Fun in the Sun with little more than a beach, a bike, a paddling pool, and their own refreshing imaginations. Kipper is a soft-spoken chap, whose gentle nature and amenable funny bone set the tone for each of the show's seven episodes. Equally dear are Kipper's chums: Tiger (a dog), Pig, and Arnold (think Maggie Simpson in pigskin.) Together, they smooth occasional bumps along life's path, like rescuing stranded pals when the tide rises; turning a leak into a pool party; and squelching envy when Arnold's skill at putt-putt golf becomes Tiger's folly.  Rating: - Kipper is a crowd pleaserI can't say enough good things about Kipper. He has a very calming effect on my son, yet he makes him laugh. My son loves the Sun DVD as Kipper brings his friends along to the beach for fun. Definitely a good buy if your child loves Kipper! Rating: - delicious languagestory line is accessible to youngest viewers, but the language used is deliciously appealing to adults with bonus British idioms and light British accent sprinkled throughout the story line; story line is sweet, but not condescending to younger viewers; my children will watch it over and over from ages 4 through 9 Rating: - Kipper is great!We love Kipper. My daughter who is 4, really likes watching these low-key but funny stories. I think it's a wonderful DVD to put on for quiet time because Kipper is so soft spoken. British accent adds it's charm to it as well. And this particular DVD has several stories about summertime things to do. Rating: - Kipper!My 10 month old won't take his eyes off the screen when kipper is on. That alone is worth more than the cost of this item! Rating: - 'Ello TigerThis is good, fun, animated entertainment for the pre-school crowd with a minimum of violence. After my daughter watched this DVD a few times, she began speaking in a British accent. It was cute, yet creepy. Still, I prefer it over the Boston accent she sometimes has when she returns home from school, "we did some drawrings and then we played in the pahk." Kipper and his buddies Tiger, Pig, and Arnold, amble about in a genial, self-amused manner, often chuckling infectiously to themselves about their mildly mischievous adventures. There are occasional moments of slapstick comedy but it is high on cuteness, low on angst and violence.
