Album Description:
Long Ago and Far Away is a collection of favorite songs begun in the 1940's. Owen's first (and only) piano teacher was his mother, a concert pianist and singer, who soon realized that her son was not to be a classical musician. Encouraged by his wife, Margaret, he developed over the years a musical style and repertoire primarily for the enjoyment of his family and friends. Each song has a history and tells a story of life and love and memory. You are invited to listen to this performance recorded professionally at home on his own piano as a surprise for Margaret. Owen practices orthopedic surgery in Memphis, Tennessee.

If eating dinner in front of CNN World News gives you indigestion, try dining to this CD. Dr. Tabor's music is clean and classic. Even if meals more often revolve around the microwave than the saucepan, your food will taste better with his piano in the background.
