Editorial Review: Amazon.com: Shot in the fall of 2001 on the group's final tour, Megadeth's Rude Awakening catches a seminal metal band at the top of its game. Although references to the then-recent terrorist events are rare, they instill songs like "In My Darkest Hour," "Symphony of Destruction," and "Peace Sells" with an undercurrent of bitterness, laced with the anger that's already there. Singer-songwriter Dave Mustaine is a charismatic figure, and one of speed metal's most literate elder statesman, as demonstrated by his astute, witty comments in the DVD's brief interview section. Also on the DVD, the 105-minute concert is augmented by additional footage of five tunes (including "Kill the King" and "A Tout le Monde," dedicated to the victims of the September 11 attacks), shot in grainy black and white.  Rating:  - Megadeth is timeless!! After all these years, Megadeth still packs some punchIf you are a Megadeth fan, you should get this dvd. Almost all of Megadeth hits are featured here. Megadeth rocks big time!! Rating:  - MegafantasticThis is the best collection by far. I'm a megadeth army general and this is freak'n awesome. Mustaine is awesome. Good show - lots of content - excellent quality!!! Rating: - Megadeth's greatest lineupI saw this tour twice and this is by far my favorite lineup of Megadeth. Jimmy DeGrasso is the best drummer I've ever seen live period and Al Pitrelli is my favorite lead guitarist the band has ever had. The World Needs a Hero is a really great album that has a lot of staying power and Return to Hanger is particularly good on this DVD. This is one of the best concerts DVD's i've ever seen an no metal fan should be without it. My only complain is that the sound quality could have been a little better, but this is a five star DVD non-the-less. The extras are amazing as well. You get a few more songs from another live show, and some great interviews with the band. This DVD has so many songs on it, just about everything I'd want to hear in a live ... However, prior to the 2001-02 `World Needs A Hero' album tour, Megadeth was yet to release a full concert on DVD. Enter 2002's `Rude Awakening' DVD which shows the band in action at a concert in Arizona. Put simply, this is a concert DVD that any Megadeth fan should own. It is a fantastic snapshot of a legendary band on top live form. Granted, you're initial thoughts may be negative about the DVD given that the line-up in action is not the `classic' line-up that featured Marty Friedman and Nick Menza. ...
