 Rating:  - GREAT Leftovers!I've read reviews on this album which are critical about it being "uneven", but another way to look at this is that it shows LeAnn's versatility. The duet with Elton John (Written in the Stars) is worth the price of the album by itself; it's a GREAT performance by BOTH artists! After reading a few negative comments, I have tried to find bad cuts, but I can't. To me, this is one of LeAnn's BEST CD's (although they are all good, so far). And incidentally, I still have the so-called "unfinished" (early) version of the album! I like it! Rating:  - THERE IS SHANIA,FAITH & LEANN THE TOP 3THIS CD BY {LEANN RHYMES} SHOWS THAT SHANIA TWAIN & FAITH HILL ARE NOT THE ONLY ARTIST'S THAT CAN TURN COUNTRY INTO POP;WITH MASSIVE SUCCESS. LEANN RHYMES DID A FLAWLESS DUET WITH ELTON JOHN THAT IS ON THIS CD;THE SONG "WRITTEN IN THE STARS" IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE DUETS OF ALL TIME. THIS CD IS A MIXTURE OF COUNTRY,POP & THE FOUR BONUS SONG'S EVEN SOUND LIKE THEY ARE MEANT FOR THE DANCE CLUB;AND THEY PULL IT OFF GREAT. THIS IS MY FAVORITE LEANN RIMES CD;IT IS A CD FOR ALL TYPES OF MUSIC LOVERS;GIVE IT A TRY AND YOU WILL BECOME A FAN!. {ROME,NEW YORK} Rating: - Uneven collection of unreleased tracksThis album was released originally in early 2000, against LeAnn's wishes, without her permission. She was in the midst of many trials with her father, and her record company Curb. She stopped recording altogether and as a result they took some mixes of songs they already had and put out this compilation. 2 years later they re-issued it with 4 extra remixes and the Olympics song "Light The Fire Within". The collection doesn't work too well. There's some nice songs like "I Need You", "But I Do Love You", "Soon", but a lot of them should have been left unreleased. The remixes are nice though. Still not an essential album to have by any means. Rating: - GoodI really don't consider myself a country music fan, but I love Lee Ann Rimes, especially her song "I Need You" it is excellent every time I hear it I try to sing along with it . . . But its just something special about about Ms. Rimes voice range that makes this cd rich and plentiful. Rating:  - I need you like water, like breath, like rain.....:)"I Need You" is a captivating ballad, as you can maybe tell, my favorite song on this album. "Light the Fire Within" is really inspirational, and sweet with the kids singing throughout the backround. Also the remixes from the Coyote Ugly sondtrack (which I also have) are great. I use them when I am teaching dance class,and/or exercising. Bottom line: This album is an enjoyable mix of country, pop, and dance, and Leann Rimes voice as always is incredible! |
