Editorial Review:

Album Description:
Queen of the Damned, the movie starring Aaliyah features a soundtrack including Marilyn Manson, Papa Roach, Orgy, Static X. The soundtrack also includes a first time solo offering from Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. Warner Bros. Records. 2002.

Amazon.com:
Befitting the film's hip goth vibe, its accompanying soundtrack is suitably dark and sexy, with a strong mix of new songs and nĂ¼-metal hits. In an interesting move, Korn frontman Jonathan Davis collaborated with composer (and former Oingo Boingo keyboardist) Richard Gibbs on 5 of the CD's 14 tracks, though Davis doesn't sing his songs. Instead, taking those duties are Static-X's Wayne Static on "Not Meant for Me," Disturbed's David Draiman on "Forsaken," Linkin Park's Chester Bennington on "System," Marilyn Manson on "Redeemer," and Orgy's Jay Gordon on "Slept So Long." Most of the Davis-Gibbs collaborations are akin to more atmospheric, dramatic Korn tunes, lent a distinctive personality by each singer, with Manson's being the creepiest-coolest and most aggressive entry. While these adroit alliances make the soundtrack a must-have for each of the band's fans (not to mention the Korn faithful), the previously released cuts are also winners. Deftones' creepy "Change," Papa Roach's angry "Dead Cell," and Disturbed's memorable rage "Down with the Sickness"--in addition to lesser-known, but sinister and titillating offerings from Godhead, Kidney Thieves, Earshot, Tricky, and others--are all worth the price of admission to this "damned" stellar soundtrack. --Katherine Turman

Average Rating: out of 5 stars

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Dark
I love it, way more songs I like on it than I originally thought there would be.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome soundtrack!
The soundtrack for Queen of the Damned is one of the best soundtrack albums ever! I'm using it as part of the playlist for my upcoming goth-themed birthday party. Jonathan Davis + David Draiman + Marilyn Manson + Chester Bennington = great music!

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Movie versions of songs are better
I have always liked the music from the soundtrack, even though I'm not a fan of these bands otherwise (I'm more into bonafide Gothic music); also, Jonathan Davis' versions of these songs in the movie are much better. I've never been a fan of him or his band, but I have to say, he's very talented just for the fact that he composed the soundtrack for this film and was part of the collaboration for these "Gothic-Rock" songs, if you will. Again, I don't really consider this Gothhic music, but it's still great.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Great soundtrack!
I loved this movie and was very pleased with the original songs and a few others for this soundtrack. I'm actually quite happy that Jonathon Davis from Korn, who sang all the songs in the movie did not sing any of the music on this. I believe the other artists did a much better job of vocalizing the music. Chester Bennington, Wayne Static, Marilyn Manson and Jay Gordon all do fantastic jobs! The Deftones song of course is amazing, and I really like the last song on the soundtrack by the Kidney Theives. Don't care much for Papa Roach, but the overall this is a great buy if you enjoyed the movie.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars - Great hardcore album
If you like Korn, Slipknot, Disturbed, or anything in that genre, you'll like this album. While Jonathan Davis doesn't actually sing on any of the tracks, he wrote all of the original songs, following Anne Rice's concept of an 18th century Vampire awakened by modern music. Besides, any CD with the Deftone's "Change" on it can't be too bad.
