 Rating: - The "Far Out" Mighty Burner in his PrimeThis CD compiles several 1969 Philly soul radio air checks featuring a leading deejay during this time and place - Sonny Hopson. Listening to Sonny nimbly "rap" between songs shows in part how today's less interesting hip hop collective got its inspiration. As a bonus, the disc samples top soul songs of the day, some known and some not so well known, but cool sounding nonetheless, and includes great ads done by Sonny(check out Sonny talking about the upcoming "muscular discrophy" telethon) and top soul stars of the day (James Brown for example). The only downside to this cd is that it one track - you can't pin point your favorite parts and are forced to listen to the entire program as one piece. That being said, having this disc ...
