From the deeply personal opening, "Intro," to the ending, "Outro (the Blood)," Franklin takes us on a journey of faith littered with doubt, struggles, and a sincerity that's hard to resist. This mostly live release includes a handful of cameo appearances by the likes of Bishop T.D. Jakes, Yolanda Adams, and Jaci Velasquez. Such a diverse group of guests mirrors the accessibility of Franklin's music on this release. Ably backed by a tight band and the powerhouse Vocals of Life choir, Franklin takes no prisoners on the blistering "Hosana," "Caught Up," and the Rasta-flavored "He Reigns," featuring Papa San. Franklin's songwriting prowess also surfaces in quieter numbers like "Don't Cry" and "Always." Throughout his meteoric career, Franklin has skillfully combined soul, gospel, hip-hop, and pop into a multicolored tapestry.  Rating:  - Kirk The Groove MasterExcellent as always, kirk throws down the tightest grooves with the strong message of god in every fiber, in every note, with every beat. He's a BAD BOY . Rating: - AwesomeI'm always late to the party, and I just got this CD, but I have always loved "Brighter Day," and bought the album because of that, but have been so pleased with all the other songs on it too. "Hossanah" and "He Reigns" are gorgeous as well. Kirk is the bomb, plain and simple. Rating: - Say what you want about Kirk, but this album is anointed.I have had hot and cold, on and off feelings about Kirk Franklin since his music became popular in the earlier nineties. Kirk Franklin admits that he has had some struggles, but this album doesn't struggle at all. This album is an album of exhortation and praise! Rating: - Kirk's CDThese CD is fresh. I love how real the songs are and how many people these songs can reach Rating: - I Loved It!This is his best CD to date. I have them all and this by far my favorite one. Very inspirational. |
